Those wires to that opening are for to jump the car if the 12v battery dies to open the frunk to replace the battery
@ToddVoght7 ай бұрын
The cable on the tow hook is to jump the 12v to get inside the trunk to replace the battery.

Tow hook attachment cover. That's what that round little door was you were wondering about towards the end of the vid. Well filmed, thanks! I've got to take it apart and find a missing sensor now ...
@capacitance4550 Жыл бұрын
It's not a missing sensor there - Those wires are for if the 12v battery is completely dead you'll need a way to open the frunk door. Attach a 9v battery to the leads and it will activate the latch.

Very interesting video, although I’ll never afford to own one it’s still good to watch 👍

Question for you! Were you ever able to determine if loosening the bolts on the upper wheel arch area was enough to slide out the bumper without removing the bolts? Is that what your photo referred to? You only have to remove the one bolt up top and simply loosen the other two?
@lleeoovv4 ай бұрын
thx, we fixed today exactly the same dummy fog light cover. Was not required to disconnect the bumper, there was sufficient space to replace it. When remounting the bumper take care that it is placed OK on the bottom side. The bumper must be inside the cover there. Bit tricky.😀

Interesting part prices! So many scare stories about Tesla - mine has been fault free -with the exception of rear o/s lights misting -free swap and Tesla came to my home - awesome car and awesome service.

those 2 wires behind the tow hook cover are for jumping the vehicle when your 12v battery is completely drained. to open doors and such.
@haroot83332 жыл бұрын
definitely not a sensor.

Good video, interesting. I don't like Tesla's personally but I am interested in videos how to fix things.

Yes it interesting to see how things are constructed and fixing them etc.

Enjoyed watching it , If I ever have to own a " Flash Milk float " then It would be a Volvo . This video reminds me of the Defender front ,who was taking "Qs" from who ? Kindest Regards Simon

Hi Mike - yes most modern cars seem to be built in a similar manner. I think our next Tesla will be called Ernie.... drove the fastest milkfloat in the west...

Well I guess you are the first private owner to take a Tesla apart! It looks quite carefully made (that’s a shock!) but fairly complex to undo for damage repairs. I hope you get the correct bit and can replace it all without too much difficulty! Now…are Tesla watching you and have just voided the guarantee???…I don’t think so…maybe you got away with it! 😀😀😀😀Richard.

Waiting to see how many Americans start filling the comments with Right to Repair stuff that they're all struggling with at the moment

Interesting - tell me more... I too am having some fun in this area but not with Tesla !

@@L663 Mostly with the likes of Tesla and Apple - when something breaks, they won't sell you parts to fix it, they want to do it and charge a premium for it
@haroot83332 жыл бұрын
no issues in America for right to repair. You need to be a certified shop for some major parts, but thats as it should be, because im pretty sure you dont know how to replace a quarter panel or a frame rail...
