Is it possible that the cv axle make clunk sound over speed bumps?
@HristovRumen2 жыл бұрын
This will not work on the passenger side. You've got tranny cooler lines directly above the cv axle. You must remove either top or lower control arms.

Hi managed to remove 5 of the 6 bolts from inner part of driveshaft to gear box but 1 bolt has rounded inside, can you advise please? Much appreciated any help . Thanks.
@TotalTechnik3 жыл бұрын
That's pretty much the nightmare scenario :-( You should consider using a bolt extraction socket, like the ones made by Irwin. Then fit a new bolt when that is removed. Best of luck with it! --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! Hi , appreciate the help . Managed to remove last bolt by giving the bolt and the area around it a good clean with brake cleaner and soft brush , dried off then used heat gun on a low setting around bolt area for about 10 seconds and immediately used socket on breaker bar and first time crack and that was it off . But could not manage to refit new drive shaft not enough room didn’t want to damage new cv so removed top suspension arms and track rod end and plenty space to fit new one , car is back on the road, very happy. Many thanks again. Will sort a little donation to your page shortly. Thanks Scott.

Great vid, I have an S3 8v and I’m experiencing a bad judder on the front end when accelerating from standing and a little knock noise around front os wheel? Do you think this would be a driveshaft issue? Nobody seems to be able to confirm it! TIA👍

How similar is this job to a B7 Audi A4 2.0t Quattro?
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
Very similar actually, but not as easy :-( They tend not just to pop out as they do on the C5. You usually have to remove the bolt on the lower suspension arm and push the arm down out of the hub to get more space to be able to pop the shaft out of the back of the hub. Much easier on the C5. Otherwise, the principal is indentical. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! So I’m getting my drive shaft changed next week for my Audi. Do I have too buy 1 or 2??? I want both sides done ?
@TotalTechnik2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Almost certainly each side will be a different part number, so you will need to buy one different one for each side you want replaced. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! Hi Max! No we didn't do one on the DRC changeover actually. But wish we had, along with the cambelt change. How te remove driveshaft Audi. End of the video this method doesn't work with all audi
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is not for all models. This is specific for the A6/S6/RS6 C5 platform. On many models it is not this easy to remove the driveshaft. On many other models you need to also disconnect the lower arm (which is mentioned briefly in the video). But yes, this is for the A6/S6/RS6 C5 platform. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! Thanks for showing this, is it easy the other way around too in terms of reinstalling?
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is pretty easy to get the back in as well. I normally use a small pry bar to assist, just try and go fairly gentle and you should be fine. Did you have to remove the ABS sensor from the spindle before removing the front drive shaft?
@TotalTechnik4 жыл бұрын
No you don't have to, but of course you can if you are concerned about clipping it.
