Use hot water instead of acetone, has the same effect and without fumes!

Appreciate this. That’s great advice. Do you dip the whole shoe in or how do you add the hot water?
@helmutp.975

@@FeelgoodThreads I put the hot water into the shoe, the polyurethane adhesive what is used here you can activate again at about 60 to 100 degree celsius. Let the hot water sit for a while and you can easily remove the strobelboard from the outsole.

I’ve dumped boiling water in a couple pairs and they would NOT come apart.

@@helmutp.975 I also use the kettle boiling hot water technique, on vintage pairs they seperate in seconds, newer pairs let it sit for a while, I tried the acetone technique for the 1st time today after watching this video, I felt like I was getting high, had to do it in the garden, with a clean air supply n gloves, fumes make me nervous to be honest, great video though 👌💪

@@brianstewart4710 Same. The boiling water loosened slightly, but the acetone worked best. Even with the acetone I had to do it twice. Idk what kind of glue was on mine but it was hard as hell to get off.

Does the acetone ruin the donor uppers?
@FeelgoodThreads
@FeelgoodThreads Жыл бұрын
Yes it does. Unless you use minimal acetone and slowly pry it off. Very difficult to save though.

Awesome video, BTW! Inquiry: do they sell replacement soles? I have two pairs of mid 1's... They are pristine, but I noticed the rear left side of the soles are losing tread.... This saddens me as they are kept perfect. What do you recommend other than buying new ones :)?

I was wondering i have a pair of nike waffle ones. I usually just wear shoes until they fall apart and throw them away but I wanted to try to clean these. Can you take the insoles out? I tried but they seem glued in and I didn't want to screw anything up.
