I’ve got a 99 Cobra with IRS. How do you get access to the front tank strap. I’ve tried for a couple hours to get a socket on that bolt without success.

Stephen - It's been a while since I've been under an IRS car. If I remember correctly, I think I use a long extension with a 13mm swiveling socket. Hope this helps. -Landan

Hello @Stephen Brannan. I used a flexible head combination ratcheting wrench to loosen the bolt from the forward side of the tank and forward of the IRS subframe. There is plenty of room to have your hand on the wrench this way. To loosen the bolt all of the way, I then used a long 1/4 drive extension with a 13 mm 6 pt shallow socket to the bolt. I did not test a 3/8 drive extension. It might fit straight, but the 1/4 drive extension and socket fit onto the bolt head perfectly. The subframe did not interfere. The 1/2 drive with a swivel joint had zero chance of going on the bolt head straight. I hope this response is not too late.

So im looking for some help, after taking it all apart and getting the new fuel pump in that pressure transducer connector refuses to click back into place. Its the same connector as i just replaced the fuel pump so im not understanding why it doesnt want to clip back in

Sometimes, the click isn't audible. Does the connector stay in place or does it back off? -Landan

@latemodelrestoration it disconnects with the slightest tough. So I assume something must be damaged and I'm not seeing it so imma try replacing the transducer connector

@@musclecargaming8618 Is the pressure tranducer connector clean? You can easily cut and splice the factory connector onto the new harness if it isn't damaged. I did that in another video. I'll like it below for reference. -Landan kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJC1ia1jlt56ec0

2:48 what is the clip for this and the clear tube it is connected to? Its a real pain of a part to find and take off
@latemodelrestoration8 ай бұрын
They're part of the EVAP system. The whitish tube is connected to the charcoal canister. These parts aren't available as new, so you'll have to source them from a donor car. -Landan

What is the name and part number of the large blue componet next to the Fuel Tank Vapor Valve I broke mine attempting to get it out ..thank you
@latemodelrestoration5 күн бұрын
Ford refers to that as the "fuel vapor control valve". Unfortunately, those are no longer available. You'll have to source one from a wrecked/donor car. Don't confuse this with the smaller valve. Ford calls that the "fuel vapor vent valve". Oddly enough, those are still available. -Landan
