I found that taking out that window gasket and putting it back on the door panel made it much easier to lower it back over the lock "button" Great simple video, thanks!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL!! I did it my own way, take little plastic cover off side mirror (inside) take off 10mm bolts, run the wire through the hole and keep pulling slowly, the clip will then appear, Unclip it with your fingers and BAM. Put the new one in, attach the new wire, put bolts back in, DONE IN LESS THAN 5 minutes !

I agree. You might have to loosen the trim piece at the top so you can fold the door trim back to get at the connector, and even remove the armrest screws to get more access, but it doesn't need to come right off.

Could you do one where a ribbon strip 2003 e46 mirror is swarp for a cable strip on the drivers side. That would really help. Thanks.

Thank you for this video ! Excuse-me but I have a question. I have to replace the mirrors and I think I should put parts 51167153143 and 51167153144 because I have a 320 cd of 2005, but they are really expensive. I find similar pieces of Magneti Marelli or other brands, but the connectors do not seem to be the same. I see in your video that you have exactly the same connectors as me for the passenger side. Which model of series 3 is it please?

I been having Problems with my folding Mirrors they did go up but did not come back down but now they are not working at all now on my E46 BMW 325ci 3 series convertible 2004 so I decided to take the driver's door panel off and I saw this which I was not expecting ( SORRY I DO NOT NO HOW TO ADD A PICTURE HERE )as youtube dose not let us put pictures in this section. in the pictures you would of seen I have the same connectors like yours but I have 2 of them and coming from the mirror I have ribbon coming from the mirror and not wirings THERE was no mirror control module i was hoping there would be one but I SEE yours do not have one but you have one connector to join your mirror to your door wiring on your car and I have 2 connector coming from my mirror to join my mirror to my car door wiring so I do not no what to do now as I do not no what Mirrors I have on the car so I would like to no how I can troubleshooting it and get them back up and running plz can you help

Ur mirror module is in ur mirrror its manufactured only 2 years by bmw i have same mirrors too and ur folding problem is mechanic %90 so u dont have to mess with module just repair mechaic parts
