i tried this and it works! i had a very shiny black wig which i could not remove the shininess! wig shampoo, dry shampoo, baking soda and even sanding the wig using baking soda paste and sandpaper didn't work! thank goodness for your method because i don't have to waste money throwing away shinny wigs! now i'm your latest fan from singapore. well done!

This method is the truth! I'm just starting to get into wigs and all the other shine removal methods I saw didn't seem effective enough, but this worked so well. I didn't have apple cider vinegar and it still worked. Thank you girl!! Subscribed!

Yes you can get the clay and apple cider vinegar on Amazon uk and any random shampoo and conditioner will do.❤️

So cool! how come the clay didn't come off completely with the washing? You know I usually just dye my wigs with just a tiny little bit amount of acrylic ink + alcohol - in a similar color, or white if the wig is blonde, let it air dry and then wash it throughly. This normally fix the shine and the wigs get completely matte on kanekalon hair. But recently I bought a wig in a different kind of biber - I think it's henlon /monofiber and for some reason the dye just wont stick to the hair no matter what I do so as soon as I wash it, it goes back to it's shinny little self lol. It's sooooo shiny, I hate that. I think I may try this method though.

Love the video, can I use any bentonite clay? Or that particular one you used?. Also is there anything to help with shedding 🥺

I don’t think it matters to be honest, just make sure it’s bentonite clay. For excessive shedding tru spraying a detangler spray and start brushing from the tip to all the way to the roots.. it will help reduce the shedding

Will the curl return to the synthetic wig after this treatment? As an aside, certain unscented brands of kitty litter are nothing but bentonite clay (read the label). I've known women to crush the tiny pellets & use as a face mask. I mean NEW, UNUSED kitty litter! LOL. But it would be more cost-effective. Thanks for showing this method. I have a few wigs you need sunglasses to look at. Have been wondering what method to try to bring the shine down.

I think it’s the combination, because I tried them individually and the results were different from when I tried them both.

@@WigsRevamp I seen a KZbinr out here died a white synthetic wig pink. And she did it with ink. So I tried doing the same thing with my black wig. But I dyed it black I just wanted to take the shine out of it. I end up in L'Oreal color spray and black. Spraying it on and blow drying it trying to. Keep it from running or getting on my hands. And yes it gets on your hands. But I'm going to try this method. Because I have a real cute wig. That probably I should make into another wig with human hair. I really like the style. I pay $20 for brand new.. what is just so shiny 🤦🏽‍♀️😔☺️

The color change is obvious to me. It looks really ashy, almost like it has a whitish blue tint to it.

The fabric softener relaxes the wig and softens it plus it refreshes the smell from all the product
