How to remove Speed Limit: Samebike LO26 and Fiido D1 electric bikes

Many thanks Mr Techcat ! I went into hospital on April 10 with chest pains and breathing difficulties and ended up on a COVID ward at what in the UK was pretty much the peak . I was lucky compared to many but it was pretty unpleasant nonetheless and although on the way to getting fixed still have issues, breathing etc. One of the first things I did when I escaped was to purchase an eBike from a local supplier based in Woking to get me out and about without placing too much strain on my aged frame which is still pretty knackered to be blunt and the eBikes fantastic , I have done over 200 km so far and use pedals for aerobic benefit, circulation etc whilst still knowing I have the power option to get me back. Mine is the none branded E-Bike S3, full suspension folding type with a twist throttle and cadence sensor with 20 inch wheels and it clearly comes off the same production line and design house as your SAMEBIKE you show in the vid. Mine has the S866 control unit which clearly comes from the same software house as yours . After watching your vid I tried the first method first, holding down the right break and pushing the power button for 5 seconds and low and behold it worked ! I went out for a test run and hey presto achieved 30 km. Last night I experimented more , I used your second method , holding down the ± keys simultaneously to access the software pages, went to 08 power settings and changed the setting from 30 kph to 35 kph, I then ran a free wheel test ( wouldn't have thought of that but for your vid !) using the throttle and achieved 35 kph with ease. I will confess I then set it to 50 powered her up and she was turning comfortably at 50 kph but I am happy with 35kph or 21 mph and don't want to overstress the motor so I've set it back to there. About to go out for another test run and will report back . Mark

If you have any electronic servicing skills and basic mechanic skills you could upgrade the battery for higher capacity to handle the higher speed and longer range. Can be done internally DIY if purchasing the battery is difficult to get hold of

it works when i pull the throttle and lock he right brake at the same time, then turning on the bike and holding them for 10sec. it gets me 29km/h and the motor its still running.

No. They are different. The "carbon wheel" like this one in the vid has only 350W. MAXIMUM is 35kmh in good conditions. The other bikes with 500w can go up. To 40kmh

From what I am hearing some have a set pariminiter comtrolers others don't........pull both breaks throttle full while turning on the bike hold everything down for 5 sec. Release all at once. If iit does not work your controler can not be bypassed.

No it does not have one , you will need to buy a 48v battery, and 48v controller. 18-21mph

You can, it is the same hold the brake levers for more than 5 seconds and turn the bike on, then turn it off and on again and voila on a full battery the top speed is closer to 29 kph/18 mph. It's a little bit lower because of the smaller wheels but it has a bit more torque than Fiido D2. The controller could also take a 48V battery (auto-switching) so I plan to put a 12s3p 48Volt battery in it sometime in the future. But for the moment the increased speed and torque works nicely for me.

Hello I've just got virtually the same bike as you, I've got the engwe 400 folding bike , I can see the bike is virtually the same as yours, just different colors. I've just assembled my bike and not sure if I have a problem with it, when I ride and go over bumps I'm getting a noise from either the suspension or the head gear, like a knocking as if something Isn't tight enough with the head gear or the forks.. wondered if you ride yours over bumps if you get any noise from the handlebars, fork area or if its you get no noise please ?

This doesn't work for Fiido because their controller have "hard" speed limit written on their controller. So this will NOT WORK on D1, D2 or L2, they don't even use the same display / command interface! There are just some Fiido models that come with an unlocked controller that will do ~ 30km when the battery is full and then the speed will decrease to 22-23km/h when the battery is getting lower.

One question mate. I have the EU version of D1, I tried both of the methods together and I didn't see any change. Maybe I have to try them one by one? First, try the one with the break levers, see if that worked and if not, then try the other one with the throttle?

May have a bad throttle. A lot of people have a bad habbit when commimg to a stop the let off the throttle quickly and the spring pulles it back and slames on the stopper. The tiny wire somtimes will come dis-sodered

Hey, thanks for the vid. The samebike exists in two versions with different wheels. The one like yours is less expensive and sold as a 250w motor bike. The other one with wheels looking normal, is more expensive and sold as a 500w motor bike. Are they finally the same bikes (^^ ) with just different wheels ? Have you measured the speed with a GPS ?

If your display head has a Factory Reset option, you might try that. The user manuals state that it resets EVERYTHING back to original settings. Some parameters do seem to be inter-related so by changing one another or more is affected in some way that may be difficult to predict.

Towards the end of the video where you do the Fiido d1, why do you say "after testing all THREE methods"? there are two methods, no? Doesn't matter as both do an equally good job of commuting. Obviously the bigger wheel size would give you more range just bear in mind battery consumption and weight of bike.

Yo this works with my samebike XMX1214.. even though it’s not the one in this video, I made sure the Bike was fully changed.. I tried a combination of switching it on, pressing the brakes, twisting the throttle for 5-10sec, turning it off and on again, and now my bike is reading 35-37km ph top speed.. it’s also faster on the peddle assist.. I took my bike for a spin, and it’s definitely faster, maybe this works with all the same bikes. I’m not sure what combination worked, but it works.. thanks Man 😁👍🏾👍🏾😎

What local police force are hassling over e bikes? They don’t even glance at them here,too busy with knife crime etc. With luck that never changes lol. Hated getting tickets as a youth on a 125cc motorbike that had all sorts of mods they’d not like resulting in points and fines,& would hate it if they got like that for bikes. Can understand them looking at some BIG stealth like mid drives that do 60mph funny but a 20” folder with a low key look (no massive hub or cell) shouldn’t get their attention surely? I’ll be hoping not lol 😉

Telencephelon well thankfully in the U.K they don’t seem bothered by bikes at all! I used to ride a 350w and never once had a problem with police. I saw that they now give a year in jail in France for derestricting or riding off road bikes on road. It’s just hard for them to police as half e bikes look standard now anyway. Even bike theft is not chased by them. I had mine stolen in an 8 minute window from under a bunch of cctv cameras & they didn’t even check the footage so a bike thief basically goes off knowing they’ll never bother. They’d cause to much of a fuss if they started stopping bike riders here and they are to busy with knife crimes and drug lines to stop ppl on bikes! I feel sorry for the places where law do such things...✌️😬

(This is my first electric bike) I have 500W motor option with batter of 48V-10Ah. I found that top speed is set to 20mph from control. Although when it is fully charged it can reach to maximum speed of 20mph (with my and backpack combined weight of 75 kg). But as battery start discharging it reduce the maximum speed drastically and drops to low as 13.5 mph when 25% battery charged. I also observed battery voltage sagging as it discharge. I made a table as below. Battery Charge Status 100% 50% 28% Voltage drop during throttling (V) 0 3-4 4-5 Battery % drop during throttling 0 20 25 Maximum speed with load (km/h) 30 24 22 Maximum speed without load (km/h) 31.5 27.3 26 I want to know is it normal with E-Bike tendency of low speed and voltage sagging as battery discharge?

Yep, I noticed the same problem..very nicely described, probably due to maintaining the range reduces the bike speed

@@yourvenom905 Hi, thank you very much for responding. So, your bike also showing similar behavior? As I I am more curious to know as power is a product of voltage and current. But when voltage drops around 51 volt or less bike does not catching beyond 28 kmph, even on flat road where I observed electrical current is consuming 2-3 A. I am thinking there is a window of increasing electrical current to improve the power demand but it seems like instead of increasing the current demand it going proportional to the voltage of battery.
