Thank you! This is the only video on KZbin that actually shows you how to effectively remove the air vent on a Saab 9-3 that actually works. Until I came across this video, I had been trying to do this for 2 straight weeks with no luck. The card method takes less than 10 minutes! Thanks and keep up the good work.

Holy crap that made it so easy. I had just gotten my ICM3 in the mail and was scratching my head on that vent. Thanks for this.

Nice way to do it without risking any damage. Having taken many hundreds of these out over the years since 2003, there is an easier way that only takes me about 15-30 seconds. (I only had one "explode" on me, and I think it was previously messed with.) Take that flat blade plastic interior tool, (the tapered one kind of like a tongue depressor?) and start at the top right side. The tool is a bit wider than the gap, but there is flex in the dash upward, and also the vent can be pressed downward a bit to get the tool started. I get the top right corner out just far enough to get my finger tips on the top right of the vent. Gently press down with your finger tips, while you work the tool along the top from right to left. As you release the top of the vent, and tilt the top and right side of the vent out, the bottom is no longer an issue. (Once the top is tilted out a little, there is room to lift it up off the bottom.) It's extremely simple. If I had a NG 9-3 available, I'd video a demo. Thanks for your Saab videos!

Saab Tech: I need to remove the ESP / Night panel / Dimmer switch panel in an 04 9-3, 183,000 mi. Is this a pry out? Reason: no lights on instrument panel at night. Of course I have the good old CEL lol.

Actually all you have to do is, using a small screwdriver, from the narrow side, count 3 holes and push the screwdriver down in, pull up gently while gently prying on the small corner until you hear a click. Keep a little pull on it while you move on the next tab. Then move to the middle. You can look in with a flashlight and see the open slot where the tab is, and do the same. Then move to the 3rd tab. I just did my newly purchased 2010 9-3 XWD sedan, since I am installing a nav display. It’s not that bad. You don’t have to worry about anything on top. That part comes right out, as soon as the bottom tabs are free, but do start on the narrow side of the vent at the bottom.

Where I can get 5 cards?
@DAGATHire3 жыл бұрын
to be fair you only have to do the bottom tabs, and it comes away pretty easy.

Im not rich but found some old credit cards and I did it. I had to remove that part and check what was making noise. That noise wasent so loud and person who drive there as passanger time to time wont hear any think but im owner of my car and im driving every day so I hear it. After disamble it I stop worrying abut that noise any more... bicouse I drop one screw deep in side the cocpit pannel. Lucky me so that screw dont make any noise out there. Any way. For last 2 years that noise frustrating me time to time. Like I sayed above I remove some parts, radio etc. to find source of that noise. I didnt find any think there what causing such frustrating sound. Solution comes two days later. I just remove very old CD from radio unit... I live in EU so sorry for crappy language. Hope You understand my short, funy and noisy story :D
