Im a factory certified HD tech and it was specifically taught to us in training never to use an impact tool for this job. Thats a good way to unbalance your crank or damage your trans mainshaft, particularly if the mainshaft is tapered with a key

I appreciate the feedback. I will try to change it in my video. This is good information to know. I’ve been doing it this way for the past 20 years and never had any of those issue. I really do appreciate it.

You are right, Mr. Harley Davidson technician read. You can't use the impact on it. Because Harley pranks aren't welded in their pieces of s***. Do yourself a favor and get a dark horse crankshaft. They are half the weight and welded and balanced. You get what you pay for.

Was actually just looking at darkhorse 😂

The main clutch nut is not a 1-3/16. It’s actually a 30mm but everyone claims it’s 1-3/16 which you can use but it can score the service of the nut
@alley55customs936 ай бұрын
I totally agree. Use the 30mm socket. Thank you for catching that. I appreciate your feedback.

I love your video thank you so much very informative, I just had Harley-Davidson dealer install a new clutch assembly for my 2005 15th anniversary Fatboy ,and I see that they use the old grub nut and the old adjuster plate, adjust the screw and the inside of the ring gear is a blue color looks like it was burnt ?? I just paid $485 for a brand new clutch doesn't look brand new ? any advice? I'm trying to look at yours and your looks nice and shiny it looks Blue by the rivets is that normal from the factory maybe? what are they weld those rivets on? Ty in advance

I've removed an alternator rotor with worn out splines from a 2003 FLHR Roadking. The spacer that you reference at 10:34 was on the other side of the rotor (it was between the rotor and stator) Have you ever seen that spacer on the other side of the Rotor. Thanks
