After fully rebuilding our oil drinking BMW N52 engine, its time to swap out the old engine and put in the new one. In this video we take a look at how to disconnect all the wiring of the N52 engine. Please remember to disconnect the battery and be careful when removing all the plugs, relays and other connectors. They are brittle and can break easily... if that happens, it won't be an easy fix!

What brand of pumps are you using? What type of coolant are you using? Is it mixed 50/50 with water?

i didn’t see anything about unbolting the transmission from the engine… i guess it magically disconnects on bmws 🤣

Do you have to take off the exhaust manifold?

To take the engine out? You just have to disconnect it at the down pipe. The manifold can come out with the engine.

I replaced the coil harness on a 2011 328i with the N51 engine now it cranks and no start anyone have a clue what it can be everything is connected correctly double triple checked everything 😢hate these stupid cars lol do i need to register it somehow to the dme or do bat reset or re register the batt or what? I'm lost here

Check the coil harness is grounded and correctly plugged in. Use a screwdriver to poke the schrader valve on the fuel rail, is there fuel pressure? Take out one of the spark plugs and coil and put the tip near the block, when you crank, does it spark? Is it giving any error codes?
