How to remove your exhaust dB killer | Make exhausts loud again

We get asked all the time, "How do I remove the dB killer / baffle from my exhaust? This tutorial shows 2 different methods for easy removal. 9 times out of 10, once you remove the dB killer, you will never put it back in! This video shows how this can be done with snap ring pliers, or just some leftover safety wire. We hope this helps you. Someone told me that Db killer is part of the backpressure needed and if I remove it from my aftermarket slip on then that's when you have issues with it messing with the way your bike runs. (Ninja 300,2014) I doubt this is true. My slip on has a little like nut that's round holding it in with a tiny weld on one side of the round nut,instead of this C clip. How do I remove that? Love the channel

That's very true, if your after market exhaust is a full system and its de cat then you will already be making the performance run worst as the bike runs lean, to correct this you need a power commander to correct the fuel to air ratio, removing the baffle takes away that back pressure even more causing the bike to run even more lean, if its bad you'll notice issues like the bike cutting out and white smoke, if it doesn't do either of these you will definitely be harming the performance unless you get a power commander, with just a slip on you'll just notice a performance decrease.

This is the absolute worst removal and installation of a C-Clip with Snap-ring pliers. A great way to scratch/damage the exhaust!!

Couldn't you have just pulled the wire through both eyelets and twist it together to compress the C clip? I think I'm going to try that instead of C clip pliers that i own. Pull the wire through, twist it until the C clip comes out freely. To put it back, just drop it in and cut the wire.

Is it damaging the engine, piston or cilinder if you take out the db killer ? The back pressure is low when you take out db killer, is it damaging the engine?

A lot, if not most of the back pressure is generated by that catalytic converter. If you are running a de-cat system then the next step for back pressure generation will be the dB killer. The engine may run hot with little to no back pressure. If you are worried about the engine and it's components, you should either leave the system alone or address the ECU tuning of the machine.

Carburetors need to be re-jetted for elevation, so I would imagine they would need to be tuned for a changes in intake/exhaust.

Ya, we will show new videos with all the different types coming soon. There is a bolt style, and there is the tack weld style. Fun fact, the tack weld is what allows them to pass the Euro4 testing approval. At that point, technically, the dB killer is welded. As you know, its very easy to grind that weld and remove the dB killer. Thanks for your support Crypto!
