In this video I'll show you how to create photorealistic 3D renders with just the physical light Cinema 4D using no plugins or external renderers!

It is by no means the best method and there are better methods with more flexibility and realism, but if you want something simple and easy to do this method is a great way to get your interiors to look great using the physical renderer.
Something I forgot to add is if you tick exposure in your camera settings your F-Stop then also controls how much light you let in as well as your shutter speed. So playing with those will mainly affect the brightness of your scene.
Also if you want more accurate shadows i would change the samples to medium and the record density to high, this will result in much longer render times so you're balancing time vs quality.

If you're still having quality problems to do with global illumination I've found changing your GI samples to medium and do the same for your record density. They will make your shadows more accurate and remove GI artifacts. If you have the spare time bump them both up to high.

Mistake I made to do with GI Portals: For them to work you should disable all channels except Luminescence, Transparency and Reflectance (delete the secular channel). In the video I had it wrong and it will brighten up your scene a lot more and remove some grain which will speed up your render times. Thanks!

Great content, very interesting. But - Boy, calm down! It's way too hectic. You're destroying your own work.

I have been using Cinema 4d R13 and I don't have light mapping in global illumination as that was introduced in R15 so my grain is still there and its a lot so I have no idea how to remove them all out

Arthur Whitehead well thanks also I wanted to ask something... If a room has only one window and I use physical light and there are some parts of the room that are not in front of the window how will I light the scene so that the whole room will have light

Pretend it's a real room and you will find your answers. Light mapping helps brighten up the room too.

When you talked about how you spent a lot of time on textures, what kind of modifications did you do?
@ArthurWhitehead
@ArthurWhitehead 7 жыл бұрын
In this particular scene I spent a lot of time on trying to get them to work well together rather than modifying them. Most of the modifications was changing the uv mapping and scale which is pretty basic. If I used octane in the scene I would've used more complex texturing and tried adding detail and imperfections.
