Thanks Rupert! That means so much to me. It takes quite a lot of time/resources to make videos regularly and when I worked for Luxion, much of my time was spent traveling and doing on-site training, which didn't leave much time to create videos every week. I've chosen to make this a priority of mine since I have complete autonomy over my time now. I'm glad you like them.

Hi @@WillGibbons, I would like to render without a background so I can change it later on in photoshop. With png format the background colour is still visable through the part, do you know a way to fix this?
@WillGibbons4 жыл бұрын
@@jipjip8594 Hi. Nope. There's technically one way to do it with keying, like a chroma key using bright colors and doing a replacement... but it's very manual and not easy. You're much better off just rendering it on the background you want. This is just something KeyShot can't do because if it did, the material would not be technically accurate and it's how KS render engine works. Sorry!

How come your final rendering doesn't have a refracted color? Which parameter is adjusted by setting? Thank you!
@WillGibbons5 жыл бұрын
Hmm. I'm not sure there should be a separate parameter for this. With cloudy plastic in KeyShot, the color of refracted light is determined by the transmission property. This is the color of light inside the material. This material type automatically refracts light due to its shape and thickness, so transmission value/color will determine the color of refracted light. KeyShot uses material models that are accurate rather than the typical Disney/BRDF model, which would give you parameters for every kind of light/property. You run the risk of creating a material that's not physically accurate going that route. If you want separated color due to refraction, I think you could use the advanced material or gem material which supports dispersion which is controlled by an abbe value. Sorry for the long answer, but I hope it makes sense.

Awesome video man. I'm trying to render cloudy plastic right now also, but am getting white and black spots on my product. The initial render was at 300 samples and on product mode. Did you run into this issue? If so, do you have any recommendations on getting rid of the spots, other than increasing samples? Also how many samples did you use for your render? Thanks!
@WillGibbons5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s typical. You can try increasing material samples. If you’re using KeyShot 9, use the denoiser, which helps a ton! Otherwise, I think I rendered my to 2 or 3,000 samples. Yep. This material can take a long time.

Thanks a lot for making this tutorial! Could you please help me out with a rendering issue? Everything looks great in real time rendering screen but after I render it, any frosted or translucent material turns out really dark (different from I see on the screen). I can't figure it out by myself :(
@WillGibbons4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you may be using 'custom control' and don't have the settings optimized. If you try rendering max samples instead, it should match the appearance of the real-time view.
