Thanks for showing the mix and type of sand, allot of videos skip that step... I have a 1930 house with a pebble type render (not pebble dash). I plan to repair a corner of house with scratch coat first and then topcoat 4:1. When do I add the small pebbles for the finish? Do I wait for the topcoat to firm up a little first, then press in small pebbles and sponge?

wrong sand.should use rendering sand.sorry not trying to be a know it all,but ive been plastering for 38 years and its just my experience.great work as usual.well done.

Yes I would use plaster sand if I was doing the whole wall but just used what I had to help to a quick repair. What is the main difference and benefit of using the plastering sand instead? Thanks for watching and supporting

@@darrenthebuilder i undertand fully.weve all had to make do at some time.plastering sand is coarser and will not shrink and crack as much as soft building sand.im in awe of your skills so please dont take my comments as a negative.all the best.p.s. i am self taught as well.nobody gave me any advice so i made some horrendous mistakes along the way.whod wanna be a plasterer,lol.
