Hello i have question so im intalling a racing seat belt on my car so im removing my OEM seat belt for weight reduction purposes so my question is will it give me a light on on my dash if i unplug my pretensioner sensor?

Yes the airbag light will be on, because the airbag control module will see that the seat belt pretensioners are missing. You can bypass the seat belts by installing a 2 ohms resistor at the seat belt plug connector. This will give it the correct resistance ohm reading to the airbag control module and it will think the seat belt pretensioner is still there. Do this of course at your own risk.

Does pretensioner work when only a curtain Air bag explode, a side colision?

Usually seat belt pretensioners are the first to go bad before the airbags. If it is a small collision then airbags will still be okay, but seat belts will blow. To know for sure you can have the system scanned to het codes to see if the seat belts are bad.

You might just need to clear the light with a scanner. If that does not help, then could be a bad airbag control module or a bad seat belt pretensioner. We do reset airbag control modules and rebuild seat belts.
