1:01 - Sticking the screws onto double-sided tape on a schematic drawing ... that is very clever. Thank you for that tip.

Loved your tip on using doublesided tape with a drawing to mark down where all the different screws were used!

So I had a dead key on my M-Audio Venom. Being pretty desparate already I thought I might just open it up and have a look. Turns out: The some parts of the keybeds are very similar to the inner organs of your Axiom. Long story short: I followed your demonstration and the Venom seems to be back in business. Hope it lasts. Thank you very much!

You sir, are a God amongst men. An absolute legend. I had my oxygen 61 sat in the loft/attic for over a year because certain keys (the middle C aswell) just stopped working. I couldn't find anything online about my issue and so just gave up. I got the keyboard down from the loft/attic and decided to take it apart as what did I have to lose? I then poked and prodded and realised that the rubber key conductors were the issue. I then googled my issue now more refined, and found this video. I had some isopropyl alcohol spare and used that, and now my keyboard is working like new, if not better! I cannot thank you enough for your effort and time in making this video and sharing it with others. You are awesome and you've made my year!

Thank you so much for posting this! I didn't use my Axiom 49 for years. When I pulled it out of storage the middle C was dead. I thought for sure I would be emailing M-Audio for a replacement part. I really appreciate your commitment to labeling parts and including that. It's always a potential oversight for people like me that like to get excited and just pull things apart and panic later when it comes time to reassemble. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I know what I'm doing today!

I fixed some dead keys on mine and you can actually do it without taking all the keys off if you take off the bottom of the keyboard and then take all the screws out from underneath the contact board. Saves a little time and you don't have to pop out all the keys. Hope that's informative. Take care✌️

I saw on another video that a guy used a pencil eraser to clean the PC contacts. Apparently that works. You can get over zealous cleaning the PC contacts and you will end up rubbing away the contact material. Also sometimes the same keys will stop working in every octave eg G and C# in my case. If this happens it is NOT the keyboard contacts but rather the connectors from the keyboard to the main board that need to be pulled out and reinserted a few times.

Just out of interest too the pads transmit on a different midi channel to the keys in case you may be wondering. (default that is) They can be reset though to match the transmit channel to the keys.

I got a used Axiom pro 61 with unresponsive pads. Only 1 pad works and the others are completely dead. I opened it up and saw no oxidation, but just a little tear on the strip that connects to the circuit board. Is there a fix?

Hello! I'm hoping maybe you could help me? I've tried this method of cleaning but using isopropyl, as well as using a pencil, a pencil eraser, and just generally cleaning out dust and dirt. So far nothing has worked, nothing looks different between the working keys and dead keys on the board and its all very clean now. Are there other methods you would suggest to try fixing dead keys? I'm really at a loss of what to do. The keyboard I have is a casio WK-6500 but the inner workings look very much like your Axiom. Thank you for your time!

Please send detail photo to my email addie_ngr@yahoo.com. my suspect is you need to conductive paint the rubber. Or some other possibility rusty soldering pcb and ICs
