Mine broke the same way on the third use. Amazon page full of complaints about this. O-Cedar should be ashamed. I might try this, thanks.

REALLY CHINTZY handle construction. Just bought one and thought I would snap it in two while using it for the first time. I'm going to write to the company as they need to improve the quality of the product. Thanks for the video!

So smart! I’m going to ask my son to do this. I have this exact model and it broke in exactly the same spot

Mine just snapped a bit in the same that white thread right as I was just about to start mopping the floor ughhhh. Ridiculous. It's a fix.. Thanks for the suggestion/option. they they are expensive mops and they are really good I like it because I don't have to bend over and hurt my back ringing out a mop.

Yeah it's a great mop, shame that the handle is so weak. Glad I could suggest a fix!

Hockey tape once around on the inside. Then just leave it extended and wrap the outside a few times around the joint. Good to go. No drills or tools. Just a cent worth of tape and you are good to go. Electrical tape would also work nicely I imagine.

Mine just broke today after having this for several years (6-7?). Great fix idea. I see that they sell the mop stick on Amazon. Of course they do...

I'll post a brief vid BUT if you have 1/8" x 1/8" pop rivets... use those. Cleaner fix instead of a bolt & nut hanging out...

How many pieces of stick came to you? After these 2 connected how to pull more up to extendable height become it's short?

Forget about fixing it, just buy a wooden one, I suggest either 48 or 54 inch. Make sure to buy one with the screw at the end. I got rid of the one that came with it, and bought one of those wooden broom handles at home depot, works perfectly. You never have to worry about the handle collapsing on it's own.

The issue with some mop sticks - like this one - is that it has a custom threading on the end to attach to the mop head.

@@Andytizer Not a problem. Any corkscrew handle will fit in it. They tried to make the design unique, but they failed completely, haha. Trust me, it will fit, I've been using a wooden handle on my mop for months now, and it's awesome. I was getting tired of all the collapses and shakiness, so I was like screw it(no pun intended), and it worked! No more collapses, no more shaky handles, just a solid piece of wood.

Punch a starter dent first. 🤣 Are pink socks required for this procedure? Actually of course my handle snapped same place, and this is what I was going to do, was just wondering if there was a repair other than this. Thanks
