DONT REMOVE THE TIRE. That's completely unnecessary the owners manual just says to turn the wheel to the most right position and it worked for me. You'll have to move the wheel to the left to take the cover off though but it's a lot easier than jacking up your car and removing the tires

I was just replacing mine only to find that the bracket that holds the battery is rusted out. Another year the battery wouldve just fell. Water just pours down from hood right onto the battery.

I was informed that there is some type of programming that you need to do with the computer while you are changing the battery otherwise it can short some stuff out. I changed my battery, it was rusted like another commenter said, but I made do and got it secure. Now I'm wondering if my recent bad luck with the anti theft lockout has something to do with my changing the battery and not programming the computer. Have you found this to be the case that a program of the computer is needed for a battery change?

@@danielandrew141 yes I just reinstalled the battery. My box was rusted so i replaced it. After I reinstalled the battery it worked great after that. Could have been a loose connection on the battery but tbh im not sure.

Yeah, I have to do my battery PITA. Its almost easier to remove the bumper cover and get it that way, just going to bite the bullett and do this ugly job and get it over with. F#CK!!!
