I was looking for a video to show home how to check the sump pump and I ran across you video. I was looking at the guy speaking and remembered we sat next to each other on a plane ride a few years ago! I invited you and your family out to church. Thank you for the helpful video :)

You mentioned the possibility of cross threading. I have found that holding the fitting/line in proper position and turning the fitting backwards while applying moderate pressure, you can feel the threads "drop" whenever you are in the correct starting point to begin tighting. Best way to prevent cross threading for myself

Please read. My experience. Water not drained. I checked hoses. They looked clean and clear. So I wasn’t worry about it. Following the video I decided to buy a multimeter. Checked the water pump for continuity and “Everything ok” like 26 ohms. I still decided to order a new pump from Amazon for $29. Installed it and it works flawlessly. My dishwasher was pretty noisy when new because it has a new and strong draining pump. Last days it was doing very quiet cycles due to, what techs call it, a “tired pump”. Now. At least in my Whirlpool model, I didn’t have to disconnect or remove it from its place and put it upside down. I only remove a plastic cover from the bottom front and squeezed my hands through it. Very ease. First. Disconnect the power. Vacuum all the water. Using pliers, Disconnect the plastic drain hose that goes to the pump. And then. With a mirror. Locate the clip that goes on the other side of the pump. Press it and rotate the pump and voila. Clean and make sure there’s nothing obstructed. Disconnect the electrical plug and connect the new one. Easy peasy. I hope this helps. Salud 🍻🍻🍻

From experience I found it best to place hose clamp back to original position. Guided by indentations from previous use.

Works similar for a Neff too, thanks

Hi! Is The drain pump universal? I don’t see the link for it in the comments. I have a whirlpool and I’ve found some On Amazon, but I’m just curious of the variance if any. Thank you!!

I always tell them that it's time to replace the dishwasher. Remember the best handyman advice you will ever get... *REPLACE, DON'T REPAIR* whenever you can. I get $129 labor to replace a dishwasher, plus optional $20 to haul off the old dishwasher. I can change a dishwasher out in about 20 minutes. Old appliance repairs invite "be-backs," warranty calls, and take a lot of valuable time chasing parts. It's better to sell them a new appliance. Take the old appliance to your shop, repair/refurb it, at your leisure, and then sell it on Craigslist with a 30 day warranty to a stranger, not a client. Make money the easy way. Right now, I have 2 Ranges, 6 Dryers, 3 washers, and 1 refrigerator stacked up in my sideline appliance department. -

That's awesome Tom! This is a rental and I did tell the client we should replace the dishwasher and he said he wanted to try to replace the pump instead so that's what I did. Worked out good!

I'd rather pay someone to do what I just had to go through... This process of repairing I went through sucked too much. Well at least I didn't have to pay anyone that's a win
