Drivers side in the states, there is no flap in the carpet. You have to remove the larger side of middle seats(heavy). Then separate the carpet just before the back seating pull it up and towards front of vehicle, you will find access panel there(not sure what’s under the panel with the carpet cut but it’s for sure not the fuel pump, a return I believe) when you put the carpet back down you can tuck it under the panels using a skinny putty knife or something like it fairly easily. To remove the plastic trim I bent one of the wifes butter knives 90* about a half inch from the tip to make a pry tool, they pop right off from the sides.

Show the filters connected to the fuel pump. So if you put a new fuel pump in, you got a new filter, is that correct

Hi there, Great Video. Is the filter located in the Tank with the fuel pump on a 3.5L V6 Petrol 2003 Kia Sorento? Or is it elsewhere? i can't find any info online and my Haynes manual has nothing listed. Thank you

Just to answer my own question for the Kia Sorento 3.5L petrol AWD - yes there is a true fuel filter in this in tank fuel assemble that needs to be replaced. There is also a mesh filter that goes on the pump intake end but it's not really a filter just a grill to keep bit bits of contaminants out of the pump. Cheers

@carfix1993 for mine, it is that I get a rough idle after it heats up while in traffic, you know, waiting on the light to change. I'll try to follow up if this is a fix for me but also needs to be changed at least every 200,000 MI. I have been blessed on this vehicle due to the fact that they sometimes lock up on the highway. Engine wise that is. This is one of those babies that if you don't maintain them, they'll abuse you back!

To remove and to replace the white plastic fuel filter with the fuel pump loctated in the middle of it, he showes many components removal and put them back after the white round plactic fuel filter is replaced. This is not an easy job. I would rather replace the whole fuel pump- filter unit with a new unit.

Because it is, the other side, passenger side, contains the fuel gauge sender. Kind of was pulling my hair out on this one.!
