Thanks so much for this super informative video. My buddy and I replaced the heater core in my 2006 yesterday without a hitch. The heat is glorious.

I'm surprised that you don't have to remove the transmission to replace the heater core. Thank you Mazda for making this such a simple task

Excellent job on the highly descriptive narrative as well as the great camera work allowing me to use the slow motion playback feature to be able to study the configuration and style of fasteners etc of the temperature controller knob and cable actuator and corresponding temperature blending door lever apparatus at the HVAC box. Very helpful for me to rule out a bad cable/actuator and for me to double check physically that my temp control cable has not slipped and is operating its full range of movement to ensure that I am getting maximum available temperature that the heater core is able to offer.

Good video! You did an excellent job breaking everything down! Just finished removing the dash and starting on core tomorrow. I have a 2005 ford escape and the only thing different was the steering column. Thanks for posting this!

Ok so I followed you're very informative video job went smoothly, but now all windows plus sunroof don't work and the shifter won't unlock. Any thoughts on what I did wrong?

Did you find a factory remote keyless entry transceiver behind the dash anywhere?

Thanks for the video. Quick question- Is this the only way to replace it (removing everything and unplugging all the wires) or can you replace it by just removing the faceplate of the radio and changing the heater core? Thanks again
@s33therfan2 жыл бұрын
It can't be done without removing the dash. All the metal bracing on the dash is in the way , along with other things. Thanks for watching.

Quick question, my wife was driving her car a huge plume of smoke appeared we had a mechanic check it out and at first it was a busted radiator but on further inspection it also turned out to be a bad heater core. i plan on doing this job this weekend but my question is do I replace the radiator after the heater core? and when everything is done do I fill up the coolant reservoir and let it cycle through the system or I think my best question is after this work is done whats the best steps as far as adding coolant to radiator and heater core so everything has coolant in it? hope this made sense an thanks for the video major help!
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
You will want to replace them both at the same time. Also I would atleast replace the upper radiator hose while you are at it. Get yourself one of these funnel kits and put as much coolant back as you can and slowly work out the air. Hope this helps amzn.to/3RauwIx

Yes Im glad that I decided to check it out before it turned cold . Got ahead of it anyway. I know with some of these cars you have to have the ac evacuated and remove the entire hvac box because they dont design an access panel like these. Thank you for checking out the video and for watching .

very useful video, I have a question, this procedure would work for a ford escape 2008? my ac stop cooling and i was told is the evaporator that is bad. So I am replacing it by my self.
@s33therfan3 жыл бұрын
It should be the same basically , however there will be minor differences with the steering column and maybe a few other things. Thanks for watching.

Hi there, thank you for the detailed video. I followed your video guide, but once all done, I have anti-theft signal on and can`t start the car. Tipple checked everything, all wires are plugged back correctly, fuses and connectors under control board are all good. Some are saying it could be ground wire issue, checked those that are shown in the video, redone them, no luck. Any ideas? Thank you
@s33therfan5 жыл бұрын
I really cannot think of anything since you have triple checked everything. I had a similar situation but with nissan altima NAT system. Maybe a lock smith might be the first strategy , see if they can program the transponder , maybe it was messed up. The only other thing i can think is something is up with the immobilizer . Maybe the connector on the immobilizer . I believe the tributes like with most anti theft , It will be transponder -immobilizer- body control module - pcm . Even the odometer cluster is a part of it , hence the reason you can't just swap one without being programmed or flashed . All those have to be in sync. If nothing is unplugged theres a problem with one of those . Id start with transponder and go from there. These anti theft are a real pain . Hope this helps out some and thank you for watching.

@@s33therfan thank you for the response, ended up to be faulty ignition immobiliser. Replaced that part and needed to reprogram the keys too. All good now.

I ordered mine from ebay . rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163086456314 Works perfectly the heat was coming out of the vents at 160 degrees F . Makes for a quick defrost on cold mornings . Thanks for watching.
