Fantastic video! Such a thorough job of explaining each step. Helped me save hundreds by changing a bad ignition coil myself. Kudos on performing the whole repair 1-handed while filming too!

I did the lower gaskets on mine around a month ago. Not a bad job as you showed nicely. I was hoping it would help with my 5 second long morning misfire problem, but it didn't. lol

Great job. I was dreading taking the fuel rail off to do the lowers. What a great idea just to leave it all together!

The hose or valve you took off right in the beginning that is the piece I need to replace. What is it called. My rubber fitting on that piece fell apart

Great video! Just curious, what made u change the coil packets? Was it just time to change them and if so at what milage did u change them? Or was a coil or several coils misfiring? Thanx!

When I got this vehicle it was cutting out bad on acceleration . I went straight to the coil packs because I had other vehicles do the same. The intakes were replaced as maintenance due to removing the intake. They are just easy convenient to change. Also a good time to get the spark plugs if they have not been changed. I will say the coil packs made a 100 percent improvemnet and its easy to just replace them all versus trying to hunt down the exact culprit. Very good question and i appreciate the feedback. Hi just curious what sort of fuel economy do you get on your tribute? I replaced the coil overs, plugs and intake gaskets when I had to do my tappet cover gaskets on my 2002 Tribute. There was oil leaking into some of the plug wells. My car starts, runs and idles perfectly, but with fuel economy it is terrible at about 6km/litre city and 8km/litre highway. Converted to 14 mpg city and 19 mpg Highway. I have a high flow air cleaner element and have cleaned the throttle body and the MASS Air Flow. I have never been able to workout if there is a way to improve the economy, so I just live with it. One mistake I may of made was I got Mazda to reprogram the computer with updated software before I did the work (before the issues started with the oil in the spark plug wells), might have been a stupid decision on my behalf as I have read it worsens the economy?

I havent checked it on this 2006 yet however on my 2002 it was getting 16 avg and i drive mainly city. So seems similiar. I really love these tribute for their versatility and cargo room. Ive hauled pipe lumber and all sorts in mine . I will say the gas mileage is horrible. But seems like the same with most fords ive owned. Ive not owned one of the 4 cylinder tribute but im curious myself on their mpg. Sometimes with a heavier vehicle the 4 cylinder is no better. I know what the website say but real world driving is usually different . I will get back with you on this 2006 when i fill up . Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching

@@s33therfan I cant understand why they get such poor fuel economy. Must just be poor design by Ford.

@@s33therfan Also another thing I had to do on mine was pull the ABS fuse. This means your ABS and handbrake lights stay on in the dash, but I find it improves the braking. I am older and I was driving before ABS was standard. When registration is due I just pop the fuse back in to get through the inspection.
