My pressure switch just bit the dust. The left side broke off somehow, and when I found the contact just hanging there, I tried to get it out and it fell down the well 😭. It needs to be replaced, and I am NOT going to try to do this by myself, as I'm just not as savvy as you are. That said, this was a very good video for those who are savvy! I'm just glad it turned out to be an inexpensive part rather than the actual pump or the pressure tank! That would've been a nightmare to afford in this economy! Thanks for taking the time and have a blessed day!

Sorry to hear about the switch. It always sucks to have the system down but like you said thankfully it's a inexpensive repair. Also, thanks for watching.

I’m in the exact same situation. Father passed away last year from Covid and been trying to keep up maintenance for my mom. Hard to believe how things tend to fall apart so quickly and how much work people were putting in to keep a home running. Hope you’re doing well as you can with your loss.
@ItchyKneeSon10 ай бұрын
Nice how-to. Thank you! My only suggestion would be to wrap all wires clockwise around the screws on the contacts. This will draw the wire into the contact as you tighten. Sometimes, if they're wrapped counterclockwise they can push the wire away as you tighten.

Thanks for this! Just bought my first house and my pump stopped working, figured it was the switch and it seemed simple enough to replace and this video verified the simplicity of replacing it. Hope the switch is the problem. Edit: Do you have any videos on replacing the solenoid? If not, can you make one?
@Daddicated2 жыл бұрын
No I don’t have a video for replacing a solenoid. Good idea on making one maybe in the future I’ll make one but for know let me try to walk you thru it. So the installation is fairly easy especially if you are replacing existing one. Make sure you take pictures of the wiring and wire the new one the same way. The way it works it basically activates when it receives power so keeps it open or it closes when it loses power. This is considered normally closed. Now they have also normally open to where it’s the opposite. Where it is open position when no power and closed position when there is power. So as long as you buy the right one and replace your existing one you should be good. As far as the connecting the pipes to the valve itself usually it’s some threaded fittings that you need to connect between your pvc pipe and your metal valve. Best thing to do is figure out the size of your pipe, take the valve to Home Depot and see what fittings it would take to make the connection. Ask someone in plumbing to help you if needed. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just found your channel. Looking forward to checking out more videos. Just got a house with a well system. Know nothing about them. Everything has a small leak so wanted to replace everything. My system doesn’t have an external pressure switch like your replacing. Is it built into the pump? Can that be replaced? The system is not easy to get to so I want to do as much as possible when I’m down there
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
Congrats on your new home. It’s nice to have your own place but like you said there is always something that needs to be replaced or repaired. I have a ton of different tutorials so feel free to check them out. It’s hard to tell what your system is like without actually seeing it. I doubt that the pump has built in pressure switch since usually pumps don’t have them but I’m not 100% certain so maybe it’s somewhere else.

Hey Andy, in your parts section you listed going from a 30/50 to a 40/60 PSI pressure switch. Is that correct? I always thought that you needed to stay with the original PSI which would be the 50/60. No?

It's probably just in another spot. There should be something you turn that makes water start coming out. Mines not underneath its further to the left of the piping at the end.

Open a faucet in your yard after cutting power to your pump, your tank pressure will dissipate. Sometimes there's a valve on the water line just outside of the tank. That would be the best way.
