Thank you Jeff. My AC wasn’t working after a cam install, watched your vid to see what I missed and it was the condenser sensor.

The lines that go in the bottom… are those screws suppose to move? Mine has a small leak from there tried tightening it but keeps spinning and now im thinking maybe the holes just isnt all the way pushed in so im goin to remove that clip and see if it need to be pushed in

Are you leaking coolant or transmission fluid? Some radiators (OEM included) have screw in bungs that retain the clips that hold transmission cooling lines on. If they are loose and not tightening they are stripped... very easy to do. If that is your problem you could try wrapping threads with teflon tape or if it is really bad, you could use something like a helicoil to repair it. If it is the line not being pushed in all the way, all you need to do it remove the black retainer ring and pop the line in. It will slide past the metal clip and lock in place.

@@JeffLyle hmm ill take a look when i get home usually only leaks when its running if its parked and off it doesnt leak so im sure if the bolt was stripped and it was transmission fluid it will keep dripping

If you are talking about those rubber mounts, they are called Radiator Insulators

I am pretty sure the part number for the ACDelco Petcock is 92218349. You can get these in a bunch of places like rockauto or amazon. You might want to double check that it fits though before ordering one. If you pulled the other one all the way out and it is leaking after you put it back in, you may just need a new oring too.

Hi, I was talking to someone who told me I would also have to remove the condenser when removing the radiator. Which then would require me to do the evacuation and the recharge of the ac system. Is this correct? or can I replace the radiator without removing the condenser?
@JeffLyle
@JeffLyle 5 жыл бұрын
no need to disconnect any ac lines. The condenser doesn't need to move when replacing the radiator. In fact, when I did my cam swap, I was able to move the condenser completely out of the way to get the cam in through the front without disconnecting anything.

Hey, did you lose a lot of transmission fluid during this job? I was wondering if you refilled the transmission fluid for what you lost from the lines.
@JeffLyle
@JeffLyle 2 ай бұрын
I probably had 2-3 ounces come out. I honestly can’t remember if I even bothered pouring it back in.

Did you replaced the missing transmission fluid?
@JeffLyle
@JeffLyle Жыл бұрын
I did not. I just checked the level and the amount lost was so small that it didnt need to be topped off. I think I only lost a couple of ounces.

I think if you remove the upper radiator hose it will go in smoothly 😉

I’m having issues putting the transmission lines with that clip back on.. 😩😭

The clips are designed to go on the fittings to the radiator first. Then press the line into the fitting. The beveled line will expand the clip and secure the line.

How about radiator supports?

If you are referring to the rubber isolators on the bottom of the radiator, they are reusable if they are in good shape. Mine were fine. Just gotta line them up from underneath the car when going back in and make sure the condenser is attached as well... it's a puzzle. But if you pay attention to how it comes apart, it's easy to get back together.

Very cool thanks for the video. Might be a dumb question but is it the process for a 2014 Camaro RS?
@JeffLyle
@JeffLyle 5 жыл бұрын
Yes the process is the same but the layout of the direct injection V6 under the hood is different. You'll have hoses and connections in different places.
