Thanks! This made the belt swap far easier. You wouldn't believe the very wrong approach I started to take for this task before backing out and finding your video and laughing at my wrong ideas.

Great video, and good step by step instructions. My only tip would be to speak a bit slower & louder for us older guys.😃

The piece I needed was that top cover. After that I had the popped off belt fixed in 10. Thanks for this awesome video. Not sure why the belt popped off...but I'm too cheap to replace it right now

I never would have thought to take off the top panel to get to the belts (I've never had a snowblower before and I'm not much of a handyman). I just knew my drive belt was messed up and the manual tells you to take it to a professional because it's too difficult. Thanks for the walk-through! Saved my back!

Thanks for the info. Very helpful, The one thing I did was to tie a string onto the belt when removing so that I could pull the new belt trough. Other than that it was exactly the same.

Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

I’m in the Northeast as well and we sometimes get 12+ inches of snow or more and I can report that the snowblower handles it decently well as long as you keep the speed down and don’t try to force it through the snow. Be sure to check out my other snowblower maintenance videos if you are interested and good luck this coming winter! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!

You mentioned the fuel but is it safe to tip the unit as far as the oil goes? It won't run out or damage the engine?

Thank you so much. My belt somehow came off the tensioner. What a pain. $900 a couple years ago for this so i wouldn't have the stress of wondering if my ancient one would fail. Guess i should have just kept it running and paid a snow plow guy three or four times a year! lol. Now, which video shows how to adjust the cable so i get all my gears back. i only get one reverse and low reverse is now #1 forward. Geeze. They aren't built in Troy NY anymore!
@5MinuteFixit3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, I’m glad you found the video helpful. I haven’t done a video on how to adjust the cable. Maybe that is something I can do in the near future but in the meantime (without looking at it) I believe there is an external adjustment on that cable that will give you back more “gears”. Thank you again and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!

Hello the drive on my 24" Craftsman snowblower was much slower by the time I had finished clearing the driveway. The machine only has about 12 hours of use so I doubt the drive belt is worn out ? I see from the video there is a spring loaded tensioner so can the belt be slipping ? The snow today was very wet and very heavy. Could the belt just be wet and slipping ? Thanks

I have no belts. How can i determine the correct size?
@5MinuteFixitАй бұрын
The best thing to do is to go to a parts finder online and type in the make and model of your snowblower, or go to a shop and do the same.

What do you do when the tension pulley spring snaps when you pull it back?
@5MinuteFixit2 жыл бұрын
If it physically breaks you’ll have to replace it unfortunately.

@beauvettepilot576819 күн бұрын

Does this work on any snowblower. I have a Husqvarna snowblower.
@5MinuteFixit2 ай бұрын
The process is usually fairly similar across the different brands although I’m not sure how similar it is the Husqvarna. Hopefully it helps, thank you for watching!

Not sure if u are still.active. the tensioner doesn't seem to tighten up against the belt. And the belt seems too long. Wont engage. When handle is pulled. Been told belt is not available and have a suppose same size aftermarket
@5MinuteFixit2 жыл бұрын
Is the belt you are referring to that doesn't tighten up with the tensioner a new belt? If so it probably isn't the right belt for your machine or the tensioner needs to be adjusted. The tensioner should pull the belt very snug. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!
@sixstring2153 жыл бұрын
I just replaced my Drive belt and the thing snapped in half again! Not sure what is going on but looks like the tensioner is bent and causing this. Any ideas?
@5MinuteFixit3 жыл бұрын
I would say if the tensioner is bent it is probably causing the belt to chafe or cutting the belt somehow. I would definitely replace the tensioner otherwise I think this will keep happening. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!

The tentionner bracket may have worn out like mine, replace the bracket, the bearing, belts (all) and the yager bearing, note the top pulley comes apart just remove the center bolt and disassemble one by one and clean the inner pulley by removing any pieces of belt! Cheers

Why does the manufacturer tell you to split the frame and auger housing to change belts, seems like a lot more wore than needed?
