Good job Monica! Glad you were able to tackle it! There are still a few things that we can do at home with out dealer help. Not sure what they would have charge you to do this, but it is also your time to bring it there & maybe have to leave it there as well. Your way ahead doing this on your own. You stay safe & nice chatting with you!

Thank you so much for this. I am literally at the laundry mat and fixed this faster than my clothes got dry. I knew I could do it but it has been years and your video gave me my confidence back. Thank you again💙💙💙

This is a great video. You not only replaced the bulb but told us what bulbs to buy, and worked on all three bulbs. A very concise, comprehensive video without preamble or wasted space in between. Thank you.

ok to touch bulb with bare hands?
@unclemarksdiyauto Жыл бұрын
These don't get as hot as a halogen headlight bulb, so Noel, yes you can. I have never had problems with these lower heat bulbs. If you feel better, don't touch the glass. These bulbs will be very hard not to touch the glass.

So my turn signal works on the left tail light but none of the running lights. Also both headlights not working. Any ideas
@unclemarksdiyauto Жыл бұрын
Off hand, no. Where to start...All fuses check out? Does the left turn signal light up in the front?
@DerrickSarazin-jr1wo Жыл бұрын
@unclemarksdiyauto yes it light up up front and rear just no running light on the left tail light. It just started doing that too. I've been so busy with work I haven't had time to check the fuses. But I would assume if that was the case the blinker wouldn't work. Idk I'll try to see what I can find out tomorrow after work and keep you posted. Also I appreciate your quick response. I will be subscribed here shortly as well. Have a great night sir

You problem is not a common issue as far as I know. It could be a shared ground for all those items that might be corroded, but I don’t know where that might be. You could also have some bad corrosion on the bottom of the fuse box that houses relays and fuses for those lights as well. If you had a test light you could see if you have either power or a ground at each of those light connectors. If you found that the ground didn’t work on all those lights, you might be able to add a new ground to one and see if that “fixes” one or all lights. Might not be the right fix, but one that is cheap and works. (If your farmilar with using a test light. I am sure this is not going to be a easy find or fix.)

Yep so I pulled both tail light and my buddy Matt came over and said he was going to run to his shop to get tools he tested the wires and the purple one on the driver's side rear tail light wasn't getting power. So I pulled off the passenger side and found a broken wire. The power wire runs to the passenger rear first then the drivers side. We fixed it and now all is good. Thank you for your help. I just wanted to let you know in case someone else has this issue!

Also all the fuses were getting power at 12.0 so we tracked it back to a broken wire

Thanks for this. Following your direction, took me 5 minutes to get the taillight bulb replaced.
@unclemarksdiyauto3 жыл бұрын
That is faster than I did it! Glad the video helped!
@steveplantz71993 жыл бұрын
Good tips but you do not have to take of the long black plastic strip that goes over the latch. All you need to do is pull the carpet back once you remove the 3 nuts.
@unclemarksdiyauto3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steve! I never had done this on this car before. That would save us some time for sure!

What if the light is completely blowed ???
@unclemarksdiyauto3 жыл бұрын
The bulb? Did the glass break? Might be able to use a pick tool or pliers to get pieces out. Or a mechanic might have to look at it.
@shardaegreen89213 жыл бұрын
The lights work when you press on the breaks but that’s it
@unclemarksdiyauto3 жыл бұрын
@@shardaegreen8921 Hard to diagnose when not in person. The sockets might be corroded too. Guess you could buy the bulbs ahead of time & take it apart & see whats up. If these ideas don't work, you may need a trip to your mechanic.

So the running bulb and the brake light are the same bulb?

The one closest to the trunk is a running and brake light bulb. I think its a 3057

PSA if you use a LED light buld your turn signal light will blink faster so if you’re picky about that stick to regular bulbs
@unclemarksdiyauto3 жыл бұрын
@@christianr.6920 You can buy LEDs that are guaranteed not to flash fast. They have a extra resistor in them to make the current draw that same as a incandescent bulb. (They are harder to find and a lot more money!)
