Thanks for the very simple and straight forward video. I will say I forgot to shut it off at the breaker since it wasn’t mentioned in the beginning, but nothing happened when I realized it halfway through and finished the video. So glad this fixed my leak!

What if you have a new Rheem water heater, when water is turned on there is a steady stream of water going thro the TPV? The only way to stop is to push down on the valve itself. Ive opened the valve and same result. Water pressure is around 50 psi doesn't matter if water is cold or heated. I believe its a bad valve. Am I missing anything here?

Can anyone tell me why water would *pour* out of the relief valve rather than just drip leak? Wouldn't stop until I turned off the water main. Spontaneously stopped after leaving water off for 2 days. Happening again months later and I'm unsure if this simple fix will help or what. Can someone also please confirm whether or not you need to turn off the gas to the water heater while replacing valve or do you just turn off water heater pilot? Sorry....never been taught!

Nobody tells you how to pick the correct replacement valve. Are they all same? What are all the numbers on the valve?

Take the old valve off and take to plumbing store to replace.

The color of the writing on the silver ring is how to determine what you need to replace with, that shows the shaft length inside, so replace blue with blue and so on

Why do you show opening a faucet in the house twice?
@trabino9 ай бұрын
This is relieve any trapped air in the water line. Actually you should open any hot water valves throughout the house.
