Hi. What's the normal operating temperature ? My after radiator change up with 4-5 °C at before and now go to 93-95°C.

When cruising it is around 90c all the time. When it gets hot outside and idling about 93-95c

my 99 ml430 used the grooved water pump housing . i did my pump 3 years ago and it came with a metal one as well. for some reason mercedes used the flat surface on some m113s to use the metal or paperish gasket. my 04 clk500 i just did and that used the metal gasket (flat surface on block plate) . so you could use that gasket on the c55 , i bet it has the flat surface ..idk its a mercedes thing i guess

Thank you for the insight! I have both options on hand for when the C55’s turn comes up! 🤙

So you used the rubber Mercedes gasket? Did you apply any sealer to hold the gasket in place? I’m doing a similar job now.
@ANDERZENAMG3 жыл бұрын
Just rubber gasket, it holds in place fine so no sealant. Holding up well 3k miles since.

@@ANDERZENAMG thanks, I’ll grab an oem gasket, the aftermarket gasket doesn’t look as thick. Other than the torque spec, is there a configuration of 1st bolt to last?
@ANDERZENAMG3 жыл бұрын
@@josekierulf6241 yea I recommend the OEM. There probably is but we just installed them in somewhat of a star pattern. They are all going into aluminum so getting them tight should be sufficient.

So, my 99 ml430, wrecks belt, after close examination, water pump makes little noise, problem is that water pulley sticks out 1/4 inch or more. Belt comes off towards motor. Ever heard of this? How do I fix?
@ANDERZENAMG2 жыл бұрын
Interesting… not too sure but if the water pump hasn’t been done, it could be failing and the pulley could be out of alignment
