This is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much! My headphones are like 5 years old I think, so the pads started to fall apart (on the inside the grey material peeled off and you can see the foam inside) and it has been driving me insane but I didn't want to buy a new set. This video has saved me, your instructions were very clear, thank you!

Personally, I just added $10 more and bought the original ear cups from the amazon beyerdynamic store, since these ones had many reviewers say that the sound is different and more hollow

this was really difficult for someone with zero sleight of hand, but the second method worked great for me. the new pads i ordered were a lot sturdier than my five year old ones, i was afraid of using too much force before i realized the material is nowhere near as fragile. once i got the first pad on, the second one was already a lot easier. thank you.

i've been using beyerdynamic's for ages and you are 100% right. this process is not easy or user friendly in any way whatsoever. but they do make my favorite headphones so i make do. it's like learning to do an oil change on a classic Mercedes. not fun, but it prolongs the lifespan of a very well made product.

The notes state that the same cushions are compatible with both DT880 and DT990, however that is not the case for the original cushions. A long time ago, I ordered new original cushions for my DT880 from the seller who sold me the headphones originally, but they sent me the DT990 cushions. The DT990 cushions didn't fit since the mounting diameter is slightly different for some weird reason. Eventually I managed to get the correct ones, but I wonder if these replacement ones are truly compatible across those models or somehow the manufacturer just assumed it would be the case since they all look similar.

The mountain flap in the back is quite flexible, which allows it to fit a slightly bigger / slightly smaller diameter. just a matter of forcing it on if that is the case. In any case, if it does not fit, we will refund your purchase immediately

If it hasn't been mentioned here, it's less necessary to stretch (and also recommended from BD themselves) to use not a heat gun but a blow dryer to loosen up the rubber to make it more pliable. Pro tips ✅

These will fit.. the 32 ohm has leather pads but the original velour pads fit them so i dont see any reason why they wont fit yours.

This helped a lot. And I must say these are very comfortable vs some really cheap ones I got on Amazon. I needed replacements and couldn’t find the official velour Beyerdynamic ones for my Custom game set. I like velour because it’s not as hot vs fake leather ones which btw peel prematurely

Hi! What about sound? Custom game are closed-type headphones and are designed to have leather earpads so sound will not "run away" (thats why full velour are ruin ths sound profile there). But this earpads are combined so what can you say about bass and sound at all?

@@kodos_ Custom game has a slider which can adjust the port from closed, to 3 levels of opened port. Bass can get very overpowering on the 4th click. This is why I prefer velour. It matches the custom game well. It also helps keep my ears cooler than leatherette which just causes a lot of heat. In addition it peels after being used for about a year or so

I've seen a few unfavourable reviews for these which claimed they could be quite fragile. Could anybody chime in if this has been the case at all? I like the patterns, but I don't know if I want to take the risk when I could simply buy the official pads, which have lasted about three years before I've noticed them falling apart.
