How long did it take? Did you buy an OEM sensor or a cheapie from Amazon? Is it still working? What size socket and how long an extension?

Working fine can't remember socket or extension should be listed in video also took less than 10 mins. Bought from local parts shop

What year is your jeep? And where you buy the sensor from? Reading some comments from jeep forums people are saying to buy cpm sensor from dealer .

i know for the 05-06 wranglers, the mopar CPM is discontinued, which stinks!!

I've heard, changing the crank sensor will help with high idling. Assuming your vid applies to all TJ's? Mine is a 2.5, manual 99'

It can, but I also suggest cleaning the throttlebody as if the butterfly plate, and the idler valve in there is caked with carbon could be the problem as well. Are you throwing any codes or anything while the vehicle is idling high

@@ghostlyrich Yes, I have the P0505 code I can't get rid of. I've cleaned the TB many times. Tried changing sensors, checked for vac leaks and fixed one. Using a smoke machine this weekend to make sure there are no more leaks.

Thanks! in a phase now with my 06 where it wont start until it cools down after driving. It cranks and cranks, but wont start. If i throw the pedal to the ground as I try to start it, it starts up but throws a cam sensor code (Even though I know the cam is fine). My mechanic installed an aftermarket crank sensor a few months ago. Im going to order an OEM cranker, install some insulation, and pray it keeps starting

were you told to do on the jeep forums because they love mopar parts for some reason. mopar does tend to have better quality control but these days its a crap shoot

Forum still told me in 2022 to go Mopar for radiator and they don't make them anymore. Eventually you have to go with aftermarket on things

Is this one the transmission or the engine. I'm doing a 4.2 to 4.0 swap and need to know what I need to do for the CPS. I''ll be running a carb so do I even need a CPS?

@@Airwahab2002 : No need for a CPS when running a carb. If I switch to EFI I'll have to get the harmonic balancer with the CPS. Not cheap.

Hey man so my jeep tj will vibrate and want to turn off when I come to a stop or accelerate From a stop and also the rpm will jump up around 2-3 rpm and I’ll hear a weird sound from the engine could that be because of a bad crankshaft sensor?

The crank sensor does a lot of weird things like that but I can't be 100% certain that's your only issue but it could definitely be one of your main issues

I'm getting code P0320 (plus a couple others I know are related to having left my gas cap off for a stretch). I have no stalling happing though I did have on awkward start the other day just before the engine light came on but before realizing I had the codes. Any chance that they are all related and P0320 will clear?? Also, if not and since no stalling, am I better to check the wiring first (yuck) before replacing the Cam Sensor. thanks to anyone who may be able to comment here!

When was the last time you did your cap, rotor spark plug wires and spark plugs ?? Usually a miss fire code like that means your getting rough idle and if the cap and rotor are worn down you will get bad spark and same with plugs. If you haven't done it in the past 60,000miles-80,000 or 100,000 I would start by replacing those 4 items will also give you better gas milage I have videos on it and really is easy

What if I don't have long arms? What if I have T-rex arms? Does that mean my Jeep is ruined and I should sell it for parts? If so, should I throw myself down a well? I've got a lot riding on this. I'll let you know how it goes, but I can guarantee it will take me at least three hours and 17 pairs of gloves if I'm able to do it at all. If I don't provide an update, start checking wells.

Anyone making these "DIY helpful" videos might consider want to consider maybe describing a but more details as far as what year you're working on, manual or auto, passenger, driver side of where to locate certain things like " Christmas tree barb." Remember, while yes, it is a TJ Jeep, there are different years, and some description may not be relevant for the Jeep people are wasting their time on, just an FYI
