This approach Works fantastically! I've seen other videos where the guys are messing with the alignment nuts & bolts at the base of the strut: bad idea!! This is the correct way to do this. Undoing lower strut bolts changes camber/caster adjustment and most if not every time you loosen those bolts and move the strut you will need an alignment afterwards. Removing the lower control arm nuts at the ball joint is exactly why they are designed that way, as to not interfere with alignment.

Hey bro, you made everything look super easy. My father in law and I had some trouble just changing the front wheel bearing on a similar Corolla(2011 Corolla). We never thought of pushing out the riveted part of the nut on the axle and as we got the nut off, we noticed the threads wore off on the axle 🤯 So after replacing the bearings I noticed a slight wobble on the passenger side of the axle, at acceleration, so I know I have to replace that soon. Anyway, just want to say thanks for this video and I'll use it for future reference. 👍🏼

This is the hard way friends, you only need to remove the 2 strut bolts and abs sensor (one 10mm socket) , this makes the assembly slump down around 1ft you then can remove axle without all the extra fuss.

I have a 2009 toyota matrix I took it to the the mechanic because it was making a noise on the passenger side and there the mechanic told me that I had to get the axle replaced. Then he told me that he didn't find the axle complete, so he replaced the silver things that go attached to where the sensor is and now the car vibrates like crazy when I start driving and as I increase the speed the vibration increases a lot more. Today, he took the axle out and he claims that there's no problem there. He put it back in and it continues to vibrate. Do you think I need to get the axle completely replaced?
