Always check your guide pins as well to ensure they aren't gunked up and sliding freely. Also I would have used brake cleaner on the rotor to clean off the film they use for rust protection. Again...use your owners manual for proper torque specs as well.

Yes you wanna make sure not only that you wanna make sure none of them are stuck because if it cannot move then it will lock your brakes up. Thank you for your feedback.

@@Mr_Goody Yes sir i will never go to a shop again to change my rotors or brakes i appreciate your video on how to do it yourself. Just a thought but you should get you a good set of rims and tires an aftermarket dual exhaust straight pipe with no muffler a glass pack resonator, a performance cold air intake, a sport tune, a pedal commander throttle response, and it will SKAT🤙 Lol that's what i did on my Journey👍✌

Those bolts have torque specs bro. I would have use some thread locker for extra security from induced vibrations.

A person that has done it for years can almost have a feel for what the Torque is, but you are exactly right it’s always best to put it on by the torque specs and you can always find those online or in the owners manual.

Didn’t see you change the clips on the retention bracket. Saw them in the box but you didn’t use them. Small details make the difference.
@Mr_Goody
@Mr_Goody 2 жыл бұрын
I did change them it just might not be on the video it is definitely important to change the retention brackets so that it holds the brakes in place. Some people use the old ones but I recommend using the new ones. And yes it’s always in the details.

I've changed my rotors today and after I got both of the front finished up. it was grinding against the new rotor I put on the vehicle for the passenger side still.. what caused that to not be able to drive and it still grinding

On these dodge journeys you might want to double check the slider pins on the brake calipers they go bad a lot. So if it’s not the brake calipers also check the dushield that are close to the rotors and make sure it’s not bent and rubbing on the rotor or itself. Those are the two things off the top of my head I know that you should check. Also if there’s something wrong with your brake calipers can also overheat the brake pads or even lock up.
@matthewansback5938
@matthewansback5938 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mr_Goody yes I think it is locked up cause the passenger side is having a hard time turning at all. It's like the brakes are constantly being pushed if that describes it a little more
@Mr_Goody
@Mr_Goody 2 жыл бұрын
You will want to check the brake calipers specifically the sliding pins to see if they will move back-and-forth because remember sliding pans have to move back-and-forth in order for the brakes to work but in these dodge journeys the calipers are known to go bad. And also like I said test the dust shield. And one last thing that’s not related to your problem at all and that is the Lugnuts in these sometimes go bad the Chrome tip Lugnuts Sometimes develop a leak and will rust the Lugnuts on and makes them near impossible to come off so a good thing is to replace your Lugnuts with a standard non-chrome to lug nuts. Other than that these are decent little suvs.

What size for the lug nuts?
@Mr_Goody
@Mr_Goody 2 жыл бұрын
3/4 inch or 19 mm. Speaking of the lug nuts though, a lot of original factory ones wear out prematurely and can cause problems, they are the one with the Chrome tips. The chrome tips start letting water leak in and the lugnutz rust. I just wanted you so you might want to change them out to avoid a future problem. Especially when your going to change out a flat tire on the side of a road.
