No either they r good or replace them no need to clean or anything unless ur putting new rotors they have oil coating those u have to clean

@@RBTheMechanic Went great! I had to wait a week for the new bracket to come in because it doesn't seem that any of the local auto stores carry them in general, but once I got the bracket/boot pin/new pins, I was able to assemble and get back on the road this afternoon. Thanks much!

I just did all break components on a 2010 corolla (pads,rotors,calipers and caliper hose) as drivers side was sticking and getting hot. Although 90% better its still an issue on same location. Any ideas?

What is the issue? Rotor over heats?

I troubled to change disc pads on my Toyota Corolla 2008, because I thought at 75,000 miles on the odometer, the pads might be well worn. This concern was multiplied by the brake pedal's long travel down, when I applied the brakes. I thought the long arc down was caused by the worn disc pads. When I removed the caliper, I could see that the two pads each had almost 1/4" of brake material. They were really not worn to a point of danger. Still, I replaced them because I already had purchased new pads and had labored to the point of doing the replacement. The brake pedal is now doing a much short arc to apply braking. I wonder why the long travel of my brake pedal with the old pads? Does the piston have such a small reach that the pads don't get more fully applied? Is the problem simply that I needed to pump the pedal to extend the piston more, adding brake-fluid as necessary? I feel like an fool having gone to the trouble of replacing the disc pads unnecessarily, when a much simpler remedy was available. Any comment?

Check for jammed calipers and caliphs pins same in the back and if u got drums in back they might be loose and worn out replace drums shoes
