I bought complete, fully loaded struts as a replacement. You can buy a pair online for reasonable prices. This video was such a valuable guide. I found that removing the caliper is a good idea to reach the bottom 18mm bolt on the bottom of the strut. Also, when you remove your old strut you will see a plastic L shaped tab that clips onto the ABS wire. I removed it with a screwdriver and drilled out 2 small holes in the plastic and used 2 small nuts and bolts to reattach it to the new strut. My new strut didn't come with that tab. That gold stabilizer link. It might be a little stubborn to reattach. I used a floor jack under my rotor to raise and lower the strut to make it fit. My 99 S70 had a 4mm allen wrench in the middle of that stabilizer link bolt. Not that hard to do. If your brake pads are getting low, replace them when you do this job. It only takes a few extra minutes. Worth it!

I love your videos! Gives me more confidence in my mechanic skills. My dad is very familiar with you guys and has been buying from you for a long time. I know I will be making all my online purchases through you guys from now on!

An alignment after installing complete strut assemblies would not be a bad idea because the car might sit slightly different from the spring being new. If you are removing the entire strut like it was shown in the video, you will not have to compress the spring to get it out.

Unfortunately at this time we do not have the entire strut available to us, only the mounts and the bellows. You can view everything through the link below: 1aauto.com/1A/-/Volvo/V70/-/-/2000

Don't forget to mention if your doing the strut you need the strut spring compressor or it may lead to a serious injury or possible death.

Heya, I own a very well cared for 98' V70 XC (cross country). I had basically the tie rod assemble, sway bar redone, and new strut mounts. However, I'm still getting excessive noise while traveling over San Francisco's horridly paved streets. Any suggestions?

What other associated parts in this general area should be looked at to replace at the same time? I like working on my car, but not THAT much. lol

+Ryan Horikoshi You may want to change the brake rotors and pads if they are worn and while you are already in there. We carry the NAKAMO brake line which are of OE quality. Here is a link to them if you would like to see what we have to offer. www.1aauto.com/nakamoto-parts/b/64#KZbin&CTA%20Comment&

Thanks for the response! I really meant suspension related components, though. I see places selling front suspension kits with control arms and outer tie rod ends included. I think I am just going to have to end up opening everything up and look to see if it needs replacing. bushings, ball joints, lines, etc.

Ryan Horikoshi The rubber bushings called "spring seats" wouldnt hurt to be replaced if u tear down the struts. They are like 10 bucks ea :) Its the lower one thats all black, not the mount with the 3 bolts, they are always ok.. Your gonna need a spring compressor. And also the stabilisier end links ofc!!! The rust kills them making them impossible to get off
