Really excellent video. I can now see why after another car hit my left wheel making it lean with the tire against the shock absorber at the top. this might be due to the tie rod being "bend" or the strut being bend inwards. I'm going to check that out now. Thanks

+Tom Kennedy The procedure might not be 100% exact but the overall idea for how to replace the wheel hub should be virtually similar. Consulting a repair manual (like haynes) for the year of your vehicle can also help in addition to this video.

So I did exactly as you stated, but you cannot put in the "C" clamp before you press in the spindle, if you do, the bearing has room to move and break and I destroyed one bearing until I figured this out. Put the "C" clamp in AFTER you press in the spindle. The "C" clamp gives the bearing just enough room to move and 'break' if you put it in first.

John S., you are correct if you follow the instructions in the exact order presented you will ruin the bearing when pressing the Hub. With an 81mm spacer on top of the snap ring the inner bearing race will not be supported. You must delay installing the snap ring until after the hub is installed, or use a smaller spacer the fits inside of the snap ring. I went with the latter choice and had no problem.

Instead of worrying about the press, why cant you just also replace and change that part out also with a new wheel hub? Can that be done?

+Kelly Hamilton Thanks for checking us out! When you are changing the bearing hub, you can replace the bearing using the same hub usually without issue. If you just want to change the hub, this is more difficult to do as typically the bearing is damaged when it gets pressed out of the hub. Its highly recommended to change the hub and bearing at the same time.
