New HVAC Blower Motor Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AHCX00237
This video shows you how to install a heater blower motor on your 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR. The blower motor, and typically integrated fan, is responsible for blowing the heated or cooled air from your heat or AC system into the cabin of your vehicle. A fan could become noisy if it is broken, or could stop spinning all together.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2006 Chevrolet HHR
2007 Chevrolet HHR
2008 Chevrolet HHR
2009 Chevrolet HHR
2010 Chevrolet HHR
2011 Chevrolet HHR
Tools you will need:
• Impact Screwdriver 1aau.to/oU/1AXAA00047
• 7mm Socket 1aau.to/oyA/1AXAA00017
• Trim Tool Set 1aau.to/oj7/1AXXX00006

My blower motor is going out, used this video to find the location, now I can smack it with a screwdriver through my glovebox and it kicks on 😂😂 thank you!

Thanks for the video. Very clear and concise. I was able to switch out the fan in my car in less than 30 minutes including the time taken to cut it out! Which is insane that you need to do!

Very helpful for removing the blower motor in my 2006 HHR; however, the one I'm trying to replace with that one, my 2008 HHR, is a different design. For some reason, the motor does not detach from the housing, it's all one piece. Thank you for a very informative video though!

Just did mine today (2011). Notes: 1. Take the glove box out (I did not and it cost me in time, visibility and physical discomfort, especially on the re-install). The glove box drawer is apparently removed by extracting the hex screw to the small plastic air piston on the right, then carefully wiggle forward, up, and out (3 hinge clips on the bottom and a pair of overlapping tabs on the left. Replacement would be the opposite of removal). 2. Immediately behind the glovebox and above the fan motor's housing is the intake filter. This is a standard automotive paper, baffle-type filter. I did not replace mine, I cleaned it instead. there are 3 vertical clips sealing the filter housing. They can easily be undone by hand, even with the glove box in. Your best bet is to get a new filter before you start, it may take a fine hand to remove, clean and reinstall a used one. 3. That suspended piece of carpet has 3 plastic retaining pins total, the third is hidden straight forward, pinned to the same block the wire harness is attached to. Carefully removing the carpet entirely adds cubic inches to the confined workspace. One less thing to fight against. 4. That specific point in the reassembly is also where the last screw goes, right where its hardest to get your driver into. This must effectively be done blind, by brail, as it were. At all stages, make sure not to accidentally cut, pinch or short any wires. 5. Assuming that most of us do not have an air-powered mini-sawzall, i tried a few different blades and found for arm-powered short work like this, the saw blade on a common Leatherman's makes a tolerable job of it.

I also had to modify the new motor a tad, took the flanged nuts off the old one and traded them for the shaved inches on the new ones, bought just enough height to minimize rubbing. Be careful, there...

Hey, I am current trying to do the same thing to my 2010 Chevy Hhr. I’ve seen other videos where they didn’t cut anything. Kinda lost me there? Or is it because it’s a stock model blower that is already on it? Sorry and thanks, great video by the way.
