Thanks so much! Great concise and clear video! The only part i faltered on through no fault of yours or video - the 7M hex head screw in the arm handle turned out to be stripped and I couldn't get it out w/ my 7mm rachet. I sprayed with DW40 and waited but no luck. I did what I know you are not supposed to but it worked- i went ahead and took off door panel and got some leverage under the 7m hex screw and was able to get it out-- and saw it is stripped. No one's messed with the door since factory so no idea why it would be stripped. Everything else worked great and i was able to get arm rest, door panel, the new handle in place and working. I put the 7m screw back but not tight so will try and find a new one and just replace. Meanwhile, saved 150-200 bucks from doing this myself --- so THANK YOU!!

Hands down the best instructional video ive ever had to watch and use. Your video was incredibly helpful with step by step instructions. I followed it to a T and installed the very same replacement part that you used and thanks for specifying the tools needed, which was a huge help...had them standing by, no guess work! My 2008 Lincoln MKZ was similar, but I only had to disconnect one electronic connection. The window connectors were in a separate piece that didn't have to come off. As a 72 year-old woman, the hardest part was pulling off and re-clipping and pounding on the door panel! But I got her done! Thanks...you saved me about $150 at the dealership!

Your voice is clear and diction and enunciation spot on.. I could hear and understand every word. The R&R procedure was very well done. You showed confidence in every step. Even when you pulled a harness through the wrong section, without fanfare you righted your mistake and moved on. Well done! I was an Aerospace Ground Equipment Master Instructor in the Air Force back in the late 60's early 70's. I know how difficult it is to explain AND show how to do something like this. You are the best I have ever experienced. Exceptionally well done! How many noticed he did most with one hand? Did you hold the camera or was it strapped? The camera work was exceptional too. If you don't teach for a living, you should look into it. Tech schools need talent like you.

I just replaced the door handle on my 2007 mkz and the only electronic connection I had to disconnect was the electric lock button at the door handle. Once the door panel was removed there was plenty of room to replace the handle mechanism. Otherwise this video is spot on.

Perfect video! Thank you so much. I’m a beginner and I was able to do this within an hour thanks to your video. For other beginners out there- it took me a little while to find the right tools including a long/skinny socket wrench that could reach inside that small compartment. The steps for me that were just slightly challenging were removing the little cover on the first screw and getting the door off the pins, but other than that I found it very easy. Thanks again!

I have a 2012 Lincoln MKZ and I just performed this repair yesterday, it does not have that little round screw cover under the handle, the entire plastic plate cover pops out with a small screw driver. remove the 2 screws behind the plate. On my model the only electrical connector that is removed is the door lock switch by the handle as shown here. Instead of a screw in that sunk in tray you use to close the door (MKZ has it's own handle) There is a tab with a screw behind it in the middle of the door. Thanks for this video, it is excellent on demonstrating the procedure; anyone watching just be mindful that there my be small differences on where the screws are located on different models so if does not look the same as this video Google how to remove the drivers side panel on "your model car" and you can usually find the information.

Slight variation for 2012 Lincoln MKZ. The top screw behind the door handle is not as pictured. There is a false plastic plate that covers that screw. Not the cosmetic tab. That is underneath the removable plate. I used a pick and thought it would break, but it popped loose first. It does not look removable, but it is. Once this flat panel is removed the access screw will be exposed. Now you will find an additional screw(torx) behind the cover bezel. On to the power window module. Must be some hidden variation for that removal since I am now working on removing that unit without success. Update: I just started prying on unit with multiple plastic tools and it popped.
