How to Replace O2 Sensor 2003-2007 Honda Accord - Code P0134 & P2243

Pretty simple step-by-step walk through on how to change the Bank 1 Sensor 1 on any 2003-2007 Honda Accord V6. This install only took me 15 minutes from beginning to end. Anybody can change this o2 sensor, and I mean anybody. The Check Engine Light is gone and I have driven the car about 50 miles since and it has not returned.
The Oxygen Sensor is a Denso part #234-5010 unit and I purchased it from Amazon for about $90 shipped.
I read about some people having problems with the Bosch and universal ones from Autozone and O'reillys so I decided to stay away from those.

When you disconnect a battery, you clear any codes. It could take 30+ miles to reset the emissions system and possibly a long night to cool everything down.

I don't believe so. You're going to want to clear the code after you've replaced the part that was defective. That way you can tell if it doesn't come on again then you know you've fixed you're problem. If you don't clear it, the ecu will still register it, so how could you be able to tell if you've fixed it? All check engine light codes need to be cleared if you've fixed the part.

Recently on my 2002 Honda Accord I had the check engine light come on, so I put a jumper wire on the data link connector, as shown in the handy dandy Haynes manual. The trouble code was 41, for Primary heated O2 sensor malfunction. On close inspection, one of the wires was loose on the quick disconnect plug. After pushing it in, I tested the O2 sensor by the procedure in the Haynes manual and it appeared to be working. Next step, I disconnected the battery to clear the codes. That was a week ago and still no check engine light. In short, look for the easy stuff and check connections before forking out 100 bucks for a new O2 sensor then going through the ordeal of changing it.

Yes, smaller motor but the exhaust manifold on the 4 cylinder is still on the same side as in this video. I'm unfamiliar with the location on the o2 sensor though, it more than likely is in that exact same spot.

Can you describe where the clip is to get the assembly off the metal bracket? Unfortunately, the video cuts off that part when you show it. Is it on the underside? Easy to feel and unclip? Slide it to the front or back? Thanks

BT Schilling 1:33. There is a small plastic tab that slides up and away from the plug. Slide it up, then pull the entire plug assembly away from the bracket. It actually very easy to remove once you get in there

Google it to verify. I believe it's the front facing sensor on the exhaust manifold.

I called honda and the part number they gave me has a corresponding part number of denso that is on your description.

It will work perfectly for your car. My car was an 03 V6, the same as yours but just a year older. You may have had a different brand on yours before but this one is one of the best for your car. 👍

Sensor 2's are the downstream (after catalyst) on the 03-07 Accords. The top O2's are Sensor 1.

The one I have is a metric 22mm deep socket. I believe it's a standard size for all, it fit my 1993 Plymouth Acclaim as well as my 2002 Honda accord.

Garage Built Hondas mine doesnt seem to have that sliding piece on it to remove it. I barely got the front one unplugged by putting a precision flatblade into the gap and prying on it as hard as I could. The back one? Forget about it. This was not easy at all

I've read the AutoZone sensors can be hit or miss. I had did a lot of reading online before making this video and fixing my wife's car and determined the one I purchased was the best for this car. I left the link in the description. We never had an issue again and we owned the car for another 2 years after I had replaced this.

The reason the check light didn’t come on right after replacing was because you disconnected the battery and reset everything. You need to drive it a while to see if it comes back on.

when you disconnect the batteries all codes are erased and the computer has to reset, which means lots of driving..if the problem was fixed the light won't come back on.... you made it seemed like the problem was fixed once you reconnected the battery because their was no check engine light.

Hey i have a 4 cylinder 07 accord and i have the engine light for an O2 sensor and my car has been cranking up kind of sluggish and sometimes doesnt crank up on the first try but will on the second. Your check engine light will go off when you disconnect the battery
