Great step by step guide! Very helpful. I'm assuming my 2015 Cooper is identical so this was perfect!

The wheel stud holder isn’t in the description. I want. What would I type in the search engine on your web site to look up, please?

Shouldn't you take the caliper off before you take the sensor off?

No.

I have a mini cooper f55, been having a brake pad warning on my dashboard saying front brake pads should be changed, checked them out and the pads still have plenty of material, tried to reset brake pad light and it was unsuccessful, would I have to change the brake wear sensor?

+Pop We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com

Pop, I also have an F55. My warning light came on recently for the rear pads. I have a handy brake pad measuring tool I got from O'Reilly's. It's a bit like a feeler gauge for brake pads. I pull the wheels and can then measure the pads very accurately. 3mm left on both sides. Right where I want to start thinking about replacement. I think Mini conservatively sets the wear sensor so owners have plenty of time to replace the pads. My pad measuring tool shows 12mm-7mm (green), 6mm-4mm (yellow), 3mm or less (red!)

You left a step out of this video, how to reset the code in the dash for the break sensor. A scan tool doesn’t reset it..

So... You just break the old sensor? It looks like you just snapped it

+John Ferreira The sensor broke when we were trying to remove it, however, it is possible to remove it without breaking it. 1aauto.com
