Here is a video tutorial on how to replace the serpentine belt on a 3.3L V6 Dodge Caravan from 2001-2010. This is a fairly approachable repair that most people can do in their garage. Just go slow and take your time, this repair is totally doable.

On a 2005 3.3 V6, the tensioner is right up against the metal fender and you cannot fit a socket. Requires a special serpentine tension tool, available for loan at least at Advanced Auto.

Well seems fine by me. Mine broke when I got stuck in snow. Now it's real cold here in Michigan. I'm 69 when wife asked if I wanted it towed to shop to fix. Naa I said that's why my grandpa put a wrench in my hand when I was 8. It'll take me some doing, more time actually depends on weather, but by golly watching your video on the big screen gave me the instructions'. Thanks more later! J.C.H.

Nice. Well illuminated and described. However my 05 3.3L model does not allow simple access with a regular ratchet or breaker bar. There isn't enough room between the tensioner and the frame

Thank you for the comment! :) It should look the same this van is only 3 years newer. There has to be a way to change the belt.

I agree. Same on my 2002. I'll have to buy a special flat bar with I hope a 3/8" drive end on it. Such an easy job......if you have the right tools. I'd have it done, but my luck is they'll find something wrong and I'll have to pay out the nose to get idler pullys or water pump changed. All things I can do myself for about a 1/5 the cost.

Thanks for this video, I have a Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.3L engine and the serpentine belt was jumping up from time to time, it seems like something in these pulleys creates a drag force when starting the engine, so the engine shakes randomly and the belt jumps out. The power steering pump was replaced when I first saw this problem 4 years ago. However, this does not happen all the time.

Thanks for the video. I'm gonna replace my belt this evening. If you put the belt on all of the big pulley's,,,, it's easier to put on the small pulley last. So in this case,,,, bigger isn't better.

Any chance you also have a video of the power steering pump coming off? Need to change mine out. Looks simple enough once the belt is off, just three bolts and it should come off without even taking the alternator off? I cant find any other videos on this engine for that pump. Thanks for this video though, it answered several questions I had on taking off that belt.

power steering pumps are a PITA on 3.3L not much room to get pulley off and bolts out to slide it out the hole, constantly hitting the fire wall, took me and mechanic friend 5 hours to get it out and back in....

Since it hasn't been spelled out: The reason the wheel cover doesn't go correctly is because you have it on in the wrong location. How you gonna put air in that tire son? You just wrenched down a wheel cover over the damn valve stem. If you've heard of proof reading your written work, maybe you should get someone to "proofview" your videos. Now I don't think your a stupid person. You seem rather intelligent and wanting to genuinely help some of us less automotively informed folk. That is a GOOD thing. Let's not gloss over that point. This could have happened to anybody. But damn it, check your comments after posting. Some of us are actually paying attention to you. Now you please fix this video or add on a segment where you explain your faux pas with the valve stem and you will get more respect rather than snarky comments and dismissal of your real knowledge where your instruction is considered worthless. I don't like raining on other people's parade but sometime the rain must fall to the benefit of others. Have a good day, sir. I'll leave you back to your "hog killin'". Thanks for reading my post.

BTW: Your correct method of replacing the serpentine belt is far superior to the other guys videos on the subject as they are all struggling and busting their knuckles whilst fighting with that stiff belt. Keep up the good practices.

yes there are two lug nut positions that will allow you to mount the wheel and then put the cover on and secure with other three lug nuts.
