Always appreciate the mercury videos brother. I made the same mistake getting the wrong idler pulley hah, got the right one now though. You know the torque spec for that one?

What are the torque specs for idler pulley? 37 ft lbs is the correct torque spec for all of the bolts that mount on the front engine casing for the pulleys and tensioner.May 6, 2016

The water pump is connected to a pulley and driven by the engine's belt If the water pump fails, the coolant won't circulate, causing the engine to overheat.

Ok gotcha. So will a loose engine belt or worn out belt cause the engine to run hot by not rotating correctly on water pump pulley?

Water pump is new. Radiator new. Thermostat new. But it still tries to run hot. I was just wondering is it bad belt or bad pulley
