Thank you!👍🏻 made it so simple and believe it or not most shops are charging $350 American to do this simple task.

This is awesome! Great video. Also thanks for the design to the engineer's. I replaced my Sentra 2010 spark plug few years back and it was such a pain. I had to remove so many components before getting access to the spark plugs. This is cool. Cover off and that's it access to the plugs. I hate how some cars are designed.

i never use anti-seize.. NGK spark plugs feature what is known as trivalent plating. This silver- or chrome-colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. The coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without the use of anti-seize. NGK tech support has received a number of tech calls from installers who have over-tightened spark plugs because of the use of anti-seize. Anti-seize compound can act as a lubricant altering torque values up to 20 percent, increasing the risk of spark plug thread breakage.

Thank you so very much Brotherman & G💖D bless you for this excellent video! I took my time & did each sparkplug 1 at a time as you said & completed my wife's 2010 Mazda 3 in about 35 minutes. Smooth & professional! Thanks again for the help & all the best to you! 👍😎💕

Awesome video! This may seem kind of dumb, but thank you for putting the correct year of the CX-7. I clicked on another video before this one that had 2005-2012 and he told me i had to take the whole car apart!! I knew that wasn't right. I hope you have more CX-7 videos.

Super helpful video and your engine is genuinely extremely clean.
@Mooseguy155 жыл бұрын
So I know the engine is super clean and kudos to you for keeping it that way, but I would advise that you blow out the spark plug hole with some compressed air or canned air before taking the plug out, just incase there should be any stray debris inside it, even though the coil is sealed. I had some minor dust fall into my cylinder from the plug thread, not much I can do about that though,

Thanks for the video! Just crossed 100k on my 2011 GT so I am going to do this in the coming days. Was already pretty confident this was pretty simple but it's always nice to have a video confirm it. $286 to have Mazda do it , or $15 a plug and 30 minutes of my own time...no brainer.

Do you know what the gap is set to? Ive seen anything from .44 to .56 Ive got an 2009 2.5L Mazda 6 basically the same as yours.
@1uch1n115 жыл бұрын
I heard that new plugs don't need dielectric grease or anti seize lube? Also aren't you supposed to disconnect the battery? I know that new plugs they say not to gap them as they're pre-gapped if you buy the correct ones and they say to NOT gap them or clean them.
@ontarioautos94765 жыл бұрын
Personal preference really if you put anti seize on the threads. Its just a good practise if you live in a climate that promotes heavy corrosion. And yes you are correct on gapping. Most new plugs are pre gapped and if you clean them the iridium can be wiped away. Thanks for the comment

Oh man! I should have watched the entire video before doing this. Something went terribly wrong and I had to weld the sparkplugs into the head. 3/4 cylinders have compression, is that good enough?

Does Mazda recommend using anti seize on the plug?
@ontarioautos94766 жыл бұрын
No but it helps when your taking them out next time.
@slickstrings5 жыл бұрын
@@ontarioautos9476 you will find that NGK recommends NOT to use any on their plugs as they come with a thin coating designed for the purpose and adding compounds runs the risk of it escaping onto the electrode etc. Basically, look at the new spark plug thread. if it is shiny and chrome like, do not add anything. That is the coating that is good for 1 use if you do it properly.

My normal shop wanted to charge me $250 for this on my Mazda5 (same engine). I thought that sounded crazy high. Sure enough. Its something that takes 15 minutes of labor and anywhere from $30-60 in parts. Seeing this i'm just going to do it myself.

Bro I hope you're never going back to that shop. You should definitely give them a yelp and google review because that's just taking advantage.

Yea man that’s a total bs quote. A shop just charged my mom over $400 and convinced her it was something that couldn’t be done at home without very specific special tools so she didn’t feel comfortable with me doing them at home since I’m not a mechanic. I raised hell up there when I found that out. Fuck shops that price gouge women and fuck the shop that you went to that wanted $250.

Hello. I have a really important question. In the middle of the engine there is a hole and there’s something that looks like there was something connected to it. What is it? Mine is not connected to anything
@ontarioautos94764 жыл бұрын
might be oil cap or dipstick possibly?
@MrErrrust3 жыл бұрын
It's a hole that helps you to remove the intake. You put right screw in a turn and turn until it touches the inside wall and pulls itself from the seal on the head.

What's a good set of wires for this, and how difficult to change? Thx.
@ontarioautos94766 жыл бұрын
This car doesn't have wires as it is coil on plug. If a coil was to go bad its easier than the spark plug change itself.

Somebody help Me Out Please; tell me what to do, before I end up in PRISON when I'm only 40years old. IS THIS FIXABLE? & NOT A $3-5,000.00 JOB...😭🙏🏽
@ontarioautos94764 жыл бұрын
Short answer is yes its repairable but hard to do. You can do what is called installing a helicoil. You could also see if you can find a used cyl head and install that for typically $300-$500 plus labour and misc parts
