THANKS LARGE MC! Without this tutorial I really didn't even want to try because of the rear plugs and coils which looked inaccessible - about an hour plus with recommended breaks and patience. 2013 Ridgeline and one convenience I had was I have a flexible 4" 3/8 extension which is no good for cracking or torquing but very helpful fishing out the socket after taking the solid extension off and also starting the new plug then switching back to solid - esp on that left rear one which was the most difficult; I was able to unclamp & flex the hoses on the right rear to get at it ok. Again, thanks, Jim.

Thanks for the video. I just changed all my plugs and all my coils (why put the old coils back?). One tip. I found it much easier (on the rear plugs), to unscrew the plug, remove the ratchet, pull the socket/spark plug out until you can grab it with your other hand then pull the extension out of the socket. It makes it far easier to pull out the plug. Reverse to install.

Great tips! That’s definitely an option. Often wires don’t wear out like spark plugs and the last time I changed the spark plugs I did the wires. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Just wanted to thank you for this tutorial. Thanks to you I successfully replaced all 6 of my spark plugs and coils. I’ve never worked on my truck before. I encountered only one hiccup when the boot on one of the coils disintegrated and lodged inside the spark plug tube. I extracted it but by bit with a pair of Hemostats, then vacuumed out all the remaining bits. Otherwise, it was a smooth install!

Hey huge fan but i have a question. I have a 2007 honda ridgeline and my engine bay really needs to be cleaned can i preasurewash the bay at alike a self wash. Also will changing spark pmigs fix a misfire on 4 code?
@MCFIXIT
@MCFIXIT Жыл бұрын
I’d be careful of cleaning with any water near any electrical components and battery. It’s best to do a cleaner that doesn’t need water to clean out your engine bay. What code are you getting?

Why would you not use anti-seize? If those get stuck in there you've got a major rebuild to do if they happen to get stuck. Use anti-seize!!!!

Your video quality is good, but this video is 38 minutes long and could easily be under 10. I know everyone has different skill levels, but seriously no one needs or wants to watch you wrench on a spark plug.
