This is totally correct 💯 I recommend these steps to anyone who's working on ignition coils nor spark plugs on any car, it's basically the same steps of fixing, you can do it guys it's super easy 15 minutes job max and it will save a-lot of money & time!

There are only 2 BANKS on that motor. BANK1 is the set of three cylinders on the passenger side. BANK2 is the set of three cylinders on the driver side. There are 6 CYLINDERS total and 2 BANKS.

For safety, you should disconnect the battery. PERSONALLY I don't disconnect the battery when I charge spark plugs.

Just like with everything on a car it should be torqued to spec, I can tell you in Europe it’s 25-28nm for the spark plugs.

At what part does the ignition coil come into play?

#1You start the car. #2 The engine powers the alternator, which powers the battery. #3The battery powers the ignition system, including the coils. #4The powertrain control module tells each ignition coil when to fire. #5The ignition coil transforms the battery’s low voltage into a high voltage current. #6The high voltage current is transferred to the spark plug. #7The spark plug ignites the air/fuel mixture, therefore powering the engine this happens almost instantly So the answer is they come in play as soon as you turn the car on. Hi. If you have one great you can use it, just find the correct torke for the type if spark plugs you are using. If you don't have have a torque range is fine, as long as you don't go crazy tighten them; first you tight them by hand using just the Socket and the extension, then attach the ratchet to the extension and tight them 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch just so you have and idea so you don't over tight them; (just snug). You know there are only two banks on that engine, right? Bank one is the passenger side. Bank two is the driver side. You are replacing the second cylinder pack and plug, which won’t fix anything on bank two.

Hi. if the spark plug is good, you don't need to replace it. If you don't know if the problem is the ignition coil or the spark plug and you don't know how to test them, I suggest you change both, that would be the easiest thing to do.

@@hackerskates thank you for the reply I heard the noise it was making before I could fix it my car shut off with no power then after a couple of days it turned on I changed the peice like you did in the vid but didn’t change the spark plug cuz I didn’t have tools it worked sounded normal again was happy asl then I turned it off now it won’t turn back on what do you think?

Hi. Make sure your battery is good, if the battery is too weak is not going to star your car that happened to me with a new battery. if you turn the ignition key to the on position and the car doesn't do nothing you may have a problem with the starter and if you turn the key to the on position and the car wants to start and it doesn't could be fuel related like a bad fuel pump, or a bad fuse or the fuel pump wires are not making good contact. When you have a bad spark plug or a bad ignition coil, you car start but you may experience rough idle it means the car will shake unless more then one sparkplugs or coils are bad.

@@hackerskates yeah man it’s doing weried stuff the alarm was going off and on and the only way I got it off was disconnected battery it ended up turning on again drove it to autozone changed the ignition coil sounded smooth turned it off then wouldn’t turn back on lol this car is a pain in the ass but I’m heading there now to check the battery again thank you for helping with these videos

What’s the calibration for the spark plug?

Hi, the spark plug that i used was pre-gapped if you use NGK spark plugs they not recommend that you adjust the plug gap more than once. 008″ in either direction, some spark plugs already come calibrated. NGK recommends a torque range of 18 ft-lbs to 21.6 ft-lbs for their plugs (14mm, aluminum alloy head). Bosch recommends a torque range of 19 - 22 ft-lbs. for their plugs (14mm). It all depends of the spark plug that you are using.
