Being at the rear of a vehicle, tailgate handles can be extra susceptible to environmental causes of rust and seizing. If your handle has become stuck, or the latch no longer functions, you can replace it yourself with parts from TRQ.

Good video. Wish there was more information. Like what does ford call the latch mechanism? When replacing the handle there is always more broken than we first think.

I have trouble opening the tailgate on my 2001 F150. I cant seem to pull the handle out far enough to release the tailgate easily. Is there anything I can adjust to make it work better? Thx!
