Excellent instructional video, however, I found it difficult to reconnect power cable after the battery had been screwed in place, as the wires were quite stiff and I had difficulty getting the battery terminal end to insert into the little slot. I loosened the battery, easily inserted the battery terminal end and retightened the screws. So, I would advise connecting battery to computer before tightening the screws holding battery into place.

My only wonder with this strategy is the possibility of static discharge because you're bringing a metal screw driver close to a plugged-into-power machine. Not sure if that matters or not. I also had the issue with the wire being very stiff.

Very helpful video thanks. I bought a (cheapish) non-Apple replacement battery - not your brand, sorry - with a relatively long cable and no pull-tab, so I had to compress the wires into a very small space. The only advice I'd propose for other battery installers is to make sure that the connector's terminals face down, and not to try to force the tab into the slot with the terminals the wrong way round, i.e. facing up!!

If possible, please remove the back panel from your Mac, and unplug the battery connector. Hold down the power button for 10-seconds, and then replug. You can then perform the SMC & PRAM resets again. I have included the PRAM reset info below just incase you need it. PRAM RESET 1.Shut down your machine. , "all the way down, not sleep or logging out" 2.Press the power button and then press command-option-p-r. You have to make sure you get those keys pressed before the gray screen comes up or it won’t work. 3.Hold those keys down until your Mac reboots again and you hear the startup chime. 4.Let go of the keys and let your Mac reboot normally. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance please don't hesitate to reach out 1-800-275-4576 or Email us at support@macsales.com

@@poweredbyowc Thank you! For some reason after doing the calibration the new battery lasts for a day, even though I only use the laptop to browse. The original Apple battery used to last sometimes even a week. Is this normal? What can I do to fix this?
@poweredbyowc4 жыл бұрын
@@sabisbliss Our batteries are designed to last anywhere from 3-5 hours on a full charge, depending on use. If you are not seeing this life span, there are a few things we would want to do to see if we can get the battery working properly for you. The first thing I would recommend doing would be resetting the System Management Controller. Resetting the System Management Controller (or SMC) in a Mac can be a useful way to troubleshoot various kinds of problems that arise, typically related to power issues or issues that coincide with new hardware being installed in the computer. Detailed instructions on performing a SMC reset can be found on Apple's website here: support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 After resetting the SMC, I would also want to perform a NVRAM or PRAM reset. This can be done with the following instructions: PRAM Reset: 1) Start the machine while holding down the Option-Command-P-R keys 2) Wait until you hear the 3rd startup chime, then let go of the keys and let the machine boot up.

HELP. Followed your instructions, successfully installed new battery to my mid 2013 Macbook Air 13. Followed calibration, but while discharging at 46%, laptop turned off. Pressed power, laptop starts but turns off again a few seconds later. I did this like 3X till laptop won't turn on again. So, re-installed OLD battery. Laptop works. So, what just happened? Appreciate any info. I'd really like a new battery as I keep charging every 5 hours. It's done 2700 cycles.
