Excellent video. Was really struggling to change my battery and so glad I found this video. Without this vid it felt like trying to get into Fort Knox.

Thanks so much for your video. This just saved me and my dad hours of wasted time trying to access my battery.

Thanks for the video, however I think you put the locking clip for the battery incorrectly back. It looks upside down.

Yeah… I was about to say. He put it back upside down. By the way the video helped me out as well 👍🏻

It is indeed upside down. Not only that but theirs is broken as well. To anyone wondering just do the same procedure but turn it upside down making go all the way down.

The Peugeot 208 user manual says that you must FIRST disconnect the POSITIVE cable from the battery. Why do you show the opposite, negative first?
@MrBrander9 ай бұрын
Electrons move from negative terminal to positive terminal. You cut the movement of electrons from the battery to everywhere and then back to positive terminal of the battery by removing the negative terminal first. That way there won't be any sparking when you remove the positive terminal. If you remove the positive terminal first all the electrons try to jump to the positive terminal of the battery which causes sparking. All the wires are loaded with electrons and only thing at that point preventing them from moving is the slowly increasing gap between the terminal of the wire and terminal of the battery. And when the gap is a bit larger, they jump the gap through the air and cause sparking. And sparking causes voltage spikes to the electrical system which can break sensitive electronics. So, always remove the negative terminal first and prevent the electrons from flowing right from the source.

1:12 "Calculator" What the?... It's not a calculator. It's a ECU which means Engine Control Unit.

The battery seems really loose on the rear right side because there is nothing holding it there. Is this normal?
@MrBrander9 ай бұрын
Yes. That's normal. The design of the battery tray is very flimsy. Only the plastic clip is holding the battery down and that's it. It's weird design.

Struggle to understand some of the audio. Eg just after 1 minute
@MrBrander9 ай бұрын
Around 1:00 they just say that you should move the negative terminal away from the battery terminal in order to avoid sparking and causing voltage spikes to the system which could damage it.
