Thank you for this video. I replaced one of these only a couple of years back with a cheap chinese aftermarket. Started hearing noises again and expected it to be one of the other mounts or maybe suspension bushings. Didn't know where to begin checking to work it out. Your method of diagnosis is excellent and cuts out a tonne of diagnosis. Thanks again 👍

Is it necessary to replace all other mounts if only one is failing? As my mechanic was suggesting that it can damage other mounts?
@TheGraceCouple Жыл бұрын
It would be good practice to replace all mounts at the same time. I don't think replacing one would damage the other mounts. The way this mount was designed makes it fail prematurely compared to the other mounts on this engine.

@@zaifkhann hey! I know I’m 8 months too late but my coupe is doing the same thing. When I accelerate hard once and a while especially if I spin my tires a bit it feels like my engine is almost skipping around in the engine bay. I’m thinking mounts but it’s super weird.
@Mainstayjay2 жыл бұрын
@@Chase-pl6kt I'm dealing with it as well, 09 Civic LX Pearl Black. I love the car and plan to fix anything that is even slightly going wrong. I was thinking motor mounts which brought me here. If any of these mounts are the culprit, would it be the transmission mount? Also if any of you all know where I can find a reputable online seller of Honda transmissions? I'm driving mine until whenever it finally dies...it just doesn't give up. 215,000 miles on the odometer and it runs immaculately. The jerking motion that sometimes happens when accelerating quickly is what made me think it's both a wearing transmission and motor mounts needing replacement. I will fix both those things if needed but that jerking acceleration only seems to be happening sporadically so far. I want to fix these things before they lead to others.

Dude, I appreciate the video and all, but what the hell are you doing 1. using SAE tools on a Honda Civic that takes metric, and 2. reusing corroded fasteners? You're basically guaranteeing that if this mount ever needs to be replaced again, the job will be soul-crushing.
