you're using the wrong antifreeze

According to our manual, the correct anti-freeze is VW G12

@@HaynesManuals .. Thank you. But VW G12, And the replacement G13 antifreeze is pink in colour. And so you where not using VW-Audi antifreeze, But a cheap aftermarket copy, Thankyou for the video.

Well in this video its clear that G12 antifreeze was not used and it would be a good idea to mention NOT to top off with G12 or sever engine damage would occur!!

@@HaynesManuals NO!! Thats is not always true... thats is how people can destroy the VWs. IF the pervious owner has used Preston's Antifreeze (Green color) as was used in this video then you must top it off with Preston's (same color). If you were to put G12 then it would gel up the engine... OR they must FULLY flush the system and fill up with proper G12 as manufacture recommends. Now flushing the coolant involves draining the engine block which many people or shops over look it. And that's is fine on other cars but not when you want to use G12... It has its steps on VWs.

Because on TDI's the thermostat is right under the alternator.

Because he doesn’t show the alternator needs to be removed

@@travmoekash The alternator doesn’t need to be removed to replace the thermostat, but it makes it an easier task.
