Great video, thank you. You explain things really well. I was going to pay to have someone replace it, but after watching your video, I think I'm going to tackle it myself. Thanks again.

Nice, straight to the point with tricks to avoid unnecessary disassembly. Going to tackle thermostat and drain and fill coolant this weekend. I love that it’s this easy on the 6.7.

Hi friend, that thermostat you changed is for cabin heating or engine cooling, I didn't understand that part, thanks for sharing.
@homegrowncountryhomeplace2 ай бұрын
It does both. It is the only thermostat, so it controls the engine coolant temp and you get your heat from the heater core, which your coolant flows through. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

Make sure you use a Mopar thermostat, aftermarket ones fail easily. Yes I know they are almost $300

Buy the Cummins parts through Cummins. Much cheaper as Mopar up charges the Cummins parts.

Do you have a part number for metal gasket that goes on the egr cooler side of the tube?

Sorry I don't. I used my old gasket. Your local dealer should be able to give you that part number. Thanks for watching! Justin

Did you drain some coolant before you started?
@homegrowncountryhomeplace Жыл бұрын
Yes, I had already removed all of the coolant because I had done a flush on the coolant system before I removed the thermostat. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

At how many miles should I change my coolant
@homegrowncountryhomeplace7 ай бұрын
I would change mine about every 100,000. Can't remember what they recommend. No more than 150,000 miles.
